July 23, 2021 NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V562000
Weight and Tire Pressure Incorrect/FMVSS 567
Incorrect tire pressure information can result in underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a crash.
NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V562
Manufacturer Rosenbauer America
Components EQUIPMENT
Potential Number of Units Affected 360
Summary
Rosenbauer America (Rosenbauer) is recalling certain 2012-2016 Commander and Warrior vehicles. The vehicle weight and tire pressure information may be incorrect on the certification label. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 567, “Certification.”
Remedy
The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on September 30, 2021. Owners may contact Rosenbauer customer service at 1-651-462-1000.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Dear Owner of a Rosenbauer Fire Apparatus:
This interim notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This is to inform you that your vehicle may have a defect due to a potential of having the wrong tire inflation, which could result in an underinflated tire that can cause a crash. Please take
note that this is an interim notification as we gather more information.
Federal law requires the Recall Remedy completed on this unit prior to customer delivery.
What is the issue?: Rosenbauer recently discovered we have a compliance issue where there is a discrepancy of information on the incomplete manufacturer certification label and the final stage manufacturer certification label located on the B pillar of our Rosenbauer fire trucks. Our further investigation found that on those labels, some of the gross vehicle weight ratings and/or tire pressure PSI could be incorrect. If your tires have a lower PSI than what is recommended for the GVWR, then there is a risk of a tire malfunction which could result in an accident. Due to the safety risk, Rosenbauer America is recalling the following fire trucks: All 2012-2021 Rosenbauer Commanders, Warriors and Avengers.
How do I know if my truck has this type of equipment? Rosenbauer is diligently working to analyze our data and determine the population effected. We are expecting that <1% of the population will have a safety risk due to the potential of underinflated tires.
To help us with this analysis, Rosenbauer is requesting that all our customers upload pictures of the certificate labels located on your truck’s B pillar. We have set up a secure website where you will input your customer name and contact info (Fig. 1 below). For additional reference, below is the location of the B pillar (Fig. 2 below). We kindly request that you submit pictures within 14 days of receiving this letter.
How do I resolve this important safety recall? Once we have analyzed the information on your certificate labels pictures, we will notify you again if your truck is part of the recall and if you need new certificate labels and an incomplete vehicle document. At that time, we will advise you to set your tires to the corresponding PSI on those labels. We plan to finalize this in the next 30-60 days.
In the interim, please check your truck tires for tread separation or bulges in tread or sidewall which indicates a potentially underinflated tire. If you witness tire malfunction, please submit pictures to Rosenbauer and your dealer of the certificate labels on the B pillar as well as the tire malfunction and contact your dealer immediately so they can submit a ticket.
Subject: Requesting increased speeds of trucks up to allowed ratings for tires
Applies to: 2012-2021 Rosenbauer Fire Apparatus
Reason: The purpose of this communication is to provide Rosenbauer Dealers requirements when discussing vehicle top speed and tire ratings with customers that exceed NFPA guidelines.
Action/Compliance: If the customer/dealer would like to exceed the vehicle top speed available for the type of apparatus and weight rating per NFPA (including Demo trucks), all the following conditions must be met:
1. The vehicle configuration must be capable of achieving their top speed request.
2. The tires must be rated for the top speed or greater.
3. The customer must sign an NFPA statement of exceptions.
Under no circumstances will Rosenbauer authorize a vehicle top speed in-excess of the tire ratings.
Please contact your regional manager with any questions.

Subject: Informal Notification – Re: Upcoming Recall 21V-562 & 2021-454
Attachments: RCLRPT-21V562-5170_573 form.PDF
Hello Valued Rosenbauer Dealers,
We have submitted our initial paperwork to NHTSA and Transport Canada regarding an upcoming recall regarding
compliance to the certification requirements per governmental regulations. At this time, we are unsure the scope of the
safety risk but we do know that some of our certificates on the B pillar are not compliant with the standards and
regulations put in place by NHTSA and Transport Canada. Furthermore, we may have an issue where the correct tire
inflation is incorrect and could lead to underinflated tires.
Rosenbauer is fixing the issue in production immediately. Furthermore, we’re analyzing what delivered trucks might be
impacted and will let you know as soon as we know. This is a lengthy process and we might not have answers for a few
weeks but we wanted to ensure our Dealers knew of an upcoming recall.
This email is to provide an informal notification as we gather information before we submit a formal letter or email to
you as well as the owners. Information that we are gathering are exactly which trucks are impacted as well as their
current location (in WIP, at the dealer, at the customer) and how we will handle the remedy. I anticipate sending official
letters to the customers by the beginning of mid-September and will let you know when we have solidified the list and
plan of action. At this time, we do not need our Dealers to do anything until we have identified the exact issue.
Feel free to reach out should you have any questions regarding recalls or technical service bulletins at
recalls@rosenbaueramerica.com. I have attached the 573 Recall Filing for your reference where you will find additional
details regarding the non-compliance. I will be in touch with you once we have more information.
Thank you,

- HIGH ACCURACY: Every ETENWOLF's pencil tire gauge is calibrated to ANSI B40.1 Grade B, it is accurate to 2% of span in the middle 50% of range and 3% of span in the lower and upper 25% of range. Each of ETENWOLF pencil tire pressure gauge is manually calibrated and has its unique calibration number printed on the pencil
- WIDER RANGE: ETENWOLF's tire gauge offers 2 pressure ranges: 10-50PSI, 20-120PSI for all types of vehicles
- ALL METAL: ETENWOLF tire gauges are made of all solid metal, zinc alloy head and stainless steel body, they are durable and can be used for many many years unless you lose them
- DEFLATION: You can also use ETENWOLF's tire gauge to deflate tires when the tire pressure is over
- 16 CAPS IN 2 CASES: ETENWOLF even offers 16 valve stem caps, so you won't worry about losing tire caps anymore
- Check out our VIDEO on the left side and take a quick tour of AstroAI tire gauge! Backlit LCD display and Lighted nozzle for visibility in dimly light areas, stocking stuffers for men and women
- Designed to maintain correct tire pressure, reduce tire wear and extend tire life; Digital display reading instantly and clearly being shown, no longer do the guesswork of analog gauges
- Nozzle easily forms a seal with the valve stem on Schrader valves and Presta stems with valve adaptor if you need, giving quick and accurate readings in 0.1 increments; 4 settings with range: 0-150PSI / 0-10Bar / 0-10Kgf/cm² or 0-1000KPA
- Simply press "ON/UNIT/OFF" button to turn on the tool, select the range, and automatically shut off in 30-40 seconds to save the power; Non-slip texture makes it easy to hold onto and the ergonomic design is both suitable for men and women's hands. Gauge automatically resets when taking pressure, no need to calibrate or reset the device
- Battery included; Perfect car accessories gifts for men; Versatile use for cars, trucks, motocycles, bicycles etc
- HIGH PERFORMANCE LOW MAINTENANCE - It is your pride and joy. Your car is one of your partners in life. Making sure it performs at its best takes tender loving care, which means essentially checking tire pressure regularly. But going to the garage or gas station is a hassle. Highly calibrated accurate to ±1% full scale of 100 PSI range VONDIOR tire pressure gauge will make sure your tires are good to go! Swiveling hose, rotating in two axis, gives easy access to the valve, for maximum convenience
- SAFETY FIRST - Driving your family, friends or simply carpooling is a big responsibility. Protecting your passengers means keeping your car in top condition. Properly inflated tires are safer and less likely to fail at high speeds. Over-inflated tires make for longer stopping distances and will skid longer on wet surfaces. Don’t trust on gas station pump accuracy, most of the time they are showing extreme wrong pressure. Keep tire on optimal pressure. It’s literally a life saver.
- SAVE YOUR GAS MONEY AND THE ENVIRONMENT – A beneficial situation for all mankind. When tires are not properly inflated, they are less “round” and require more energy to begin moving and to maintain speed. In addition, under-inflated tires contribute to pollution and increased fuel costs. So get a VONDIOR gauge in order to save money and Mother Nature.
- EASY AS I,2,3 - Mechanics advise checking your vehicle’s tire pressure weekly. But it’s quite inconvenient to run to the garage or gas station regularly just for that. The VONDIOR gauge's large dial with swivel valve hookup makes it easy to measure air pressure at any tire angle. Simply attach it to your tire's air valve - no need to hold it steady, no need to look at the gauge - and the pressure will show instantaneously.
- ANALOG ACCURACY IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND- Technologically advanced devices have their advantages, but when it comes to a device that can save your life, it must function in real time. This analog tire pressure gauge doesn't require any batteries and provides quick and precise readings. Having a protective rubber shield, it is built to last. It’s an accessory that your car cannot live without.
- STAINLESS STEEL components prevent rust and corrosion; Crafted to create a great seal around a tire's valve stem, and we provide 4 valve stem caps as a gift
- MEASURES PSI, kPa, BAR; Measurement range from 10-75 PSI, 70-550 kPa, 0.7-5.5 BAR.Attention!Do not exceed the maximum pressure of the gauge, doing so will permanently damage the device
- UNIVERSAL APPLICATION: Not only are these tire inflator with pressure gauges easy to use, but include an integrated deflator valve, chuck, and ABS indicator bar
- CONVENIENT DESIGN stows easily in a glove box, tool belt, workbench, or even a pocket; the pocket clip makes it easy to carry with you while on the job
- BATTERY FREE means no maintenance and total reliability under all weather conditions; a necessary tool for roadtrips and optimal safety
- ADVANCED ACCURACY: Professionally calibrated to always return an accurate reading within 1% of the exact pressure of your tire. No more guessing! Accurately measures in a range from 0-250 PSI (0-17.2 Bar; 0-1724 Kpa; 0-17.5 kg/cm^2). Stocking Stuffers for Men.
- INCREASED SAFETY: Properly inflated tires provide better performance in all weather conditions, decrease the likelihood of flats, explosions, and crashes; Increase your MPG, save money on fuel/tire wear, and drive safer.
- ALL-IN-ONE FEATURES: AstroAI tire pressure gauge Includes an inflator, straight locking chuck, gauge, hose, and bleed valve, all in one unit with function of deflation, inflation, tire pressure check. Compatible with both ¼” and ½” NPT air compressors outputs.
- SUPERIOR CONSTRUCTION: Made with heavy-duty stainless steel and high-quality brass components, our inflator delivers lasting reliability and performance. Its leak-proof lock-on chuck allows the inflator to handle pressure from cars, trucks, motorcycles, SUVs, off-road vehicles, RVs, trailers, and more.
- BATTERY SAVER: Automatically turns on when pressurized air is detected and turns off after 20 seconds of inactivity.
- Upgraded Power Supply - Replaceable AAA Battery: Instead of 4 coin cell batteries, 2 AAA batteries are included with this tire pressure gauge. It's easy for anyone to replace with spare batteries, and AAA batteries can last longer than coin cell batteries! Stocking stuffers for men and women.

- 🚕HIGH PERFORMANCE LOW MAINTENANCE - Your car is one of your partners in life. Making sure it performs at its best takes tender loving care, which means essentially checking tire pressure regularly. But going to the garage or gas station is a hassle. Highly calibrated accurate to ±1% full scale of 60 PSI range Vondior tire pressure gauge will make sure your tires are good to go! Includes a swiveling valve connector, rotating on its' axis for maximum convenience.
- 🚗SAFETY FIRST - Driving your family, friends or simply carpooling is a big responsibility.
- 🚜SAVE YOUR GAS MONEY AND THE ENVIRONMENT – A beneficial situation for all mankind. When tires are not properly inflated, they are less “round” and require more energy to begin moving and to maintain speed. In addition, under-inflated tires contribute to pollution and increased fuel costs. So get a Vondior gauge in order to save money and Mother Nature.
- 🚖EASY AS I,2,3 - Mechanics advise checking your vehicle’s tire pressure weekly.
- 🚛ANALOG ACCURACY IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND- Technologically advanced devices have their advantages, but when it comes to a device that can save your life, it must function in real time. This analog tire pressure gauge doesn't require any batteries and provides quick and precise readings. Having a protective rubber shield, it is built to last. It’s an accessory that your car cannot live without.
