Insufficient Spot Welds On Propane Cylinder Holder
A detached propane cylinder can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2024 Hideout 175BH, 177RD, 178RB, 179RB, 181BH, and 2024 Springdale 1700FQ, 1760 FQ, 1800BH, 1810BH, 1860SS, 2010BH travel trailers. The propane cylinder holder may have an insufficient welds, allowing the propane cylinder to detach.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the holder, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2024. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone’s number for this recall is 24-451.

Single Propane Cylinder Holder
Keystone is conducting a voluntary RECALL notification campaign in accordance with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Act. It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may have been manufactured with a propane cylinder holder that may have an insufficient spot weld. Under certain conditions during travel, a weld on the propane cylinder holder could fail allowing the propane cylinder to become unsecure, leading to an increased risk of personal injury.

2024 Hideout, Models 175BH, 177RD, 178RB, 179RB, 181BH
2024 Springdale, Models 1700FQ, 1760FQ, 1800BH, 1810BH, 1860SS, 2010BH

Parts Required:
1 – KRV # 401368 – Bottle – LP – Bracket – Single – 01364-8 (This part may be ordered in bulk without a VIN)
3 – KRV # 400432 – Screw – 5/16 – 12 x 1″ – Hex Washer – Self Drilling – Zinc (This part may be ordered in bulk without a VIN)
Tools Required:
– Screw gun – ½ nut driver & 7/16 nut driver, pliers, standard screwdriver
Note – Check serial number on Key Express to verify the campaign is open. Some vehicles were repaired before they left Keystone.
When performing warranty or recall service, please make certain that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
The remedy is to remove the single propane cylinder holder and replace it with new.
REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Locate the trailer on a level, flat, hard surface. Chock the wheels.
Step 2
Shut off the propane and remove the hose from the cylinder then remove the wing nut and bolt from the bracket. Now remove the cylinder and set it safely aside.
Step 3
Remove the 3 screws from the bracket legs and discard screws.
Step 4
Offset the new bracket so as not to hit the old holes and the A frame below with the new screws. Screw all 3 legs down with the bracket sitting relaxed, feet should cover the old existing holes.
Step 5
Reinstall cylinder and hose then be sure to tighten bolt and wing nut.

12/27/2023 – Report was made that propane cylinder holder legs were coming apart.
1/31/2024 – Investigation opened. The affected Plant was put on hold and Yard was inspected.
2/14/2024 – Keystone Safety Committee reviewed the information and concluded that the data reviewed indicated a unanimous vote for a voluntary recall. Investigation called for to determine affected unit range.
2/16/2024 – Investigation concluded and scope completed.

2024 Hideout, Springdale Travel Trailers. As a result, Keystone RV is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for
any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost
importance to us.
It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may have been manufactured with a
propane cylinder holder that may have an insufficient spot weld. Under certain conditions during
travel, a weld on the propane cylinder holder could fail allowing the propane cylinder to become
unsecure, leading to an increased risk of crash or personal injury.
Keystone representatives have been in contact with the staff at your selling dealership regarding this
situation. The remedy is to remove the single propane cylinder holder and replace it with new. The
service and parts required for this corrective action will be provided at no charge to you.
Remove the propane cylinder before transporting your RV. As soon as possible, please make an
appointment to have your RV serviced by your dealership. The labor time to perform this correction
is approximately 1 hour. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will
be needed to schedule and process your RV for this repair.
Your dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure your RV is corrected as
promptly as possible. Please contact Keystone Customer service if your dealer is unable to assist or
if you take your RV to your dealer on the agreed service date, and the dealer does not remedy the
condition within a reasonable amount of time, or without charge to you. You may be eligible to
receive reimbursement if you paid to have the defect resolved prior to receiving this correspondence.

SAFETY ADVISORY 24-451
Dear Hideout and Springdale Dealers,
Keystone RV Company has decided that a defect which relates to
motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 2024 Hideout,

Springdale Travel Trailers. As a result, Keystone RV is conducting
a safety recall.
Reason For This Recall:
It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may
have been manufactured with a propane cylinder holder that may
have an insufficient spot weld. Under certain conditions during
travel, a weld on the propane cylinder holder could fail allowing the
propane cylinder to become unsecure, leading to an increased risk
of personal injury. The vehicles included in the recall are:
2024 Hideout, Models 175BH, 177RD, 178RB, 179RB,
181BH
2024 Springdale, Models 1700FQ, 1760FQ, 1800BH,
1810BH, 1860SS, 2010BH
Serial Number Ranges: Hideout RW240750 – RW242401
Springdale RW100517 – RW102315
Our records indicate unit(s) sold or in your present lot inventory fall
within this range, which will require immediate preventative action.
Important: If some of the units are still in your inventory,
Federal Law requires you to complete the recall service on
those units before retail delivery.

451.
