Summary
Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2023 International HV and 2023-2024 International MV vehicles. The assembly bolts used to attach the battery box to the mounting bracket may be loose or missing.
Remedy
Dealers will replace and tighten all four bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 5, 2023. Owners may contact Navistar’s customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar’s number for this recall is 23506.

How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy assembly involves replacing any missing bolts and tightening the four bolts to their specified torque value and the recalled assembly did not validate this process. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : 01/05/2023 – Navistar revises work instructions to include witness marks to each bolt that has attained correct assembly torque specification and a second witness mark at quality inspection.
