Summary
My wife was driving the vehicle down a major highway in Tulsa and it immediately shut down and started slowing down. She was in the left hand lane had to cross 3 lanes of traffic with a dead engine. Luckily she wasn’t ran into because traffic was very heavy. This could have resulted in injury or even worse. She made it off the highway by about a foot and had to sit there for 30 minutes before I could get there. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealership and they just confirmed that the engine was blown. The vehicle only has 70,000 miles on it and has had regular oil changes.

My truck was "repaired" for recall 23S30. The light bar gets microcracks that leet water in and short out the lights. The "repair" was to replace the light bar with another light bar that does the exact same thing. It lasted just over a year before it went out. Was driving and all of a sudden ‘steering power low’ came on and engine died, got stuck in a busy intersection and needed assistance from police officer until I could be towed. Steering did not work to push car to side of the road so I was stuck in the center of the traffic. There was absolutely no lights or warnings before the steering power low and it died. Could have been very dangerous, I am supposed to drive north through the mountains to go camping in 2 days, lucky it didn’t happen then. At the mechanic now and they jumped the battery and say it’s working fine and they can’t find the problem.

Summary
On about [XXX], I was driving and my engine felt like it missed and my check engine light came on and a message appeared telling me to get remote throttle serviced. The truck began to drive badly and lack of acceleration made it difficult to maneuver in traffic. The truck was very difficult to start and unsafe to pull into traffic due to lagging ability to accelerate. I took it to a Firestone and they pulled the codes and said the crankshaft sensor and crank tone wheel had failed and needed replacing. I decided to take it to a RAM dealer in Franklin TN to confirm the diagnosis. After about a week, they confirmed and said crankshaft sensor and reluctor wheel needed to be replaced. I asked them if it would be covered under the recall (FCA W58) on the known defect of the crank tone wheel delaminating. When the recall occurred, I had the temporary solution of a computer flash done back in 2021, but the actual defective part was not replaced. They reported back to me that the cost of the repair would not be covered. They said my truck was too old, but the defect was discovered while my truck was still under warranty. Also, under a previous FCA lawsuit, they were made to pay truck owners money and extend their warranty. How can they get away with not having to rectify a known defect without fixing the problem? The computer flash simply allowed the vehicle to continue to operate, but it was by no means safe to operate on public streets in traffic. Will the NHTSA make FCA actually fix this problem? Summary
While driving on the freeway, my Ford's sunroof spontaneously shattered. There were no vehicles in front of me, I live in San Diego County and the weather was in the mid-60's and I did not have my air on. It sounded like an explosion or gunshot. I immediately pulled off on to the shoulder and saw the shattered sunroof, and since I was about to exit to my house, I continued home and called the California Highway Patrol to report a potential gunshot to my vehicle. However, when the office arrived, he believed it was an implosion from the inside of the vehicle outward. This did appear to be the correct assessment as there was no glass inside the vehicle (I had seen glass fragments falling around the outside of my vehicle and in front of my windshield at the time of the explosive sound). Also, the glass was bent out towards the top of the vehicle consistent with an inside to outside breakage. I took it to my local Ford dealership and Ford has accepted responsibility for the defect and will replace my damaged sunroof at their cost.

Summary
Check engine light indicated on the dash, immediately took it to an nearby auto mechanic Tuffy in Fort Myers Florida, off of Daniel's parkway. The said the diagnostic said it was valve cover and gasket replacement. Got a second opinion at Apex Auto in Tire in Fort Myers. Had them install a new valve cover and gasket cover. Check engine light was still visible. Probing a further diagnostic. They indicated that this vehicle should be fixed under recall 23V-707. And would suggest a local BMW dealership to perform that service. The mechanic said this was a known problem, this engine is a N55 and under the model list as E70 X5. I retrieved the vehicle and spoke with BMW Fort Myers which indicated that there not an open recall that they will not do a recall claim. because of the symptoms of the vehicle smoking and rattle I'm afraid of a potential engine compartment fire from a broken bolt.
