Steering wheel at speeds usually above 25mph causes the steering wheel to feel stuck. This is a big safety issue as this causes over correction, leading me to steer into other lanes. No warnings, ect. I just purchased the vehicle last weekend so I have not had a chance to get it into the shop just yet but after researching this seems to be a common problem. This is a road hazard that can absolutely cause accidents. From my understanding there has been a recall issued on newer models but not on the 10th gen civics. This needs addressed and a recall absolutely should be issued.

Summary
While driving we noticed the engine light came on so we took it to our local mechanic. He said we were leaking coolant and it was too extensive fro him to fix so he suggested we put coolant in every few days. We researched the problem and found that these cars had a recall for this exact issue yet our VIN does not show it. We went to Ford Dealership and they confirmed we need a new engine as they connected the IDS. This vehicle was built at the Hermosillo plant, has the same 1.5L EcoBoost engine, and has experienced the exact coolant intrusion failure that Ford recalled or extended coverage for on other vehicles. I am asking Fotrd to reconsider my case because my vehicle has the identical defect despite my VIN not being included. My kids purchased this car for my wife and I in October 2025. I also included a VIN Report based on my VIN Number and if scroll to the bottom of that report maybe page 23 you will see the Recall.

Component: Lane Support System — Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK) Part of standard Autopilot safety suite (not FSD) activated without valid lane detection data and pushed the vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic on Ohio State Route [XXX]. The system then aborted mid-intervention (LSS_STATE_ABORT), leaving the driver in the oncoming lane. The resulting head-on collision killed both drivers — the [XXX] Tesla driver and the driver of the oncoming vehicle. Two people died because of this ELK malfunction. Tesla's own telematics data confirms the following sequence: 5At 23:51:17.420 UTC, the Lane Support System activated Emergency Lane Keeping (LSS_STATE_ELK). 6At 23:51:17.652 UTC (232 milliseconds after activation), the system logged ALC_UNAVAILABLE_NO_LANES — confirming it had no valid lane detection data during the intervention. 7At 23:51:17.755 UTC (335 milliseconds after activation), the system logged LSS_STATE_ABORT — the system cancelled itself mid-intervention. 8During the 335-millisecond intervention, the vehicle's steering angle reached -16.79 degrees leftward and lateral acceleration measured +1.200 m/s² leftward — both confirming the vehicle was pushed into the oncoming lane. 9The driver responded with the largest steering torque (-5.08 Nm rightward) and largest rightward steering angle (+19.50 degrees) recorded in the entire telematics file — confirming he was actively attempting to recover. 10 The head-on collision killed both him and the driver of the oncoming vehicle. We requested additional telematics data from Tesla through the Tesla app. A forensic expert has examined the vehicle's ECU motherboard— missing critical fields including continuous yaw rate, high-resolution steering data, ELK steering commands, and lane detection confidence scores. A subsequent request for additional data produced an error message and Tesla has not provided further data. This crash is the exact behavior under PE25012. Summary
The vehicles front Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system, part of the Safety Shield 360 suite, has activated several times without any obstacle, vehicle, pedestrian or hazard present in the roadway. This is commonly known as phantom braking. The system triggers unexpected braking during normal driving conditions, which creates a risk of read end collision from following traffic and loss of vehicle control response time. In my specific case the issue happens during bright sunshine when the sun casts a shadow from the overpass at [XXX] and highway [XXX] in the [XXX] area. This has happened several times to me at that location and the vehicle locks the brakes and traffic behind me must quickly brake to avoid hitting my vehicle. I temporarily remedy the problem by disabling the front emergency brake using the vehicle menu before my commute but that menu resets when the vehicle is turned off and i have on occasion forgot to disable the front emergency braking. This malfunction will also occur at higher speeds but the vehicle does not have time to react and all that I get is a bright flashing warning light on the dash indicators as I drive under overpasses at higher speeds. At lower speeds this is very dangerous. I have reported this problem to my local Nissan Dealer, Bommarito Nissan on [XXX] in [XXX] but as of now they do not have a solution.
