Improperly Secured LP Hose May Cause Fire

Summary
Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp. (Lance Camper) is recalling certain 2022 Lance 1685 and 1985 travel trailers. The liquid propane (LP) hose may not be properly secured to the frame, allowing the hose to contact the leaf springs, which can cause a gas leak.
Remedy
Dealers will properly secure the LP hose, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 22, 2022. Owners may contact Lance Camper customer service at 1-661-949-3322.

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL THIS NOTICE APPLIES TO YOUR VEHICLE RECALL #2022-0411 NHTSA # 22V097 April 2022 Dear Valued Lance Camper Customer: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Lance Camper Mfg. Corp. Has decided that a safety defect relating to motor vehicle safety exist in certain model year 2022-1685 and 1985 trailers. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? On certain Lance trailers affected by this recall, L.P. Hose not secured to frame allowing the hose to droop down and could allow the leaf spring shackle to make contact with the L.P. hose. If the leaf spring shackle made contact with the L.P. hose it could damage the hose causing it to leak Flammable L.P. gas and potentially cause a fire. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? Turn off the propane at both of the propane cylinders, until the L.P. hose has been inspected and corrected. Include with this notice are instructions and parts to correct the defect. If you wish to make the corrections yourself, follow the instructions carefully. Once you have completed the repair or had an authorized Lance Camper dealer do the repair, please fill out the “Compliance Recall Only “section located on the left-hand side of the enclosed prepaid self-addressed reply card with the appropriate boxes marked. Sign and date the reply card where noted and place in the mail. WHAT WILL LANCE DO? With your continued satisfaction in mind, if you do not feel comfortable making this repair, contact an authorized Lance Camper dealer to make an appointment to have the work performed at no charge to you.
