1. Make sure the shore power is disconnected.
2. Make sure the battery disconnect is OFF.
Caution: this unit is equipped with an Auto Generator Start system and could start automatically if not correctly disconnected from power.
To remove shroud, use a T-30 driver bit to remove the fasteners:
1. Two 1¾” Washer head screws (#1) on rear.
2. Six 4″ flat head stainless steel screws (#2) at front.
Set shroud and screws aside for later.
Remove the two 4″ screws (#1) and washers (#2) from the foam casing with a T-30 bit.
Remove casing and set aside.
Remove the lid of the junction box.
If box is secured to the ducting, remove the screw(s) and extract the wire connections so the yellow wire can be inspected where it comes into the box
Inspect the Romex cable conductor insulation where the outer sheath has been cut.
Inspect both sides of the conductor insulation to make sure the conductor insulation has not been compromised.
If wire insulation is good no further action is required.
Reinstall junction box and reassemble air conditioner housing.
In the event of compromised conductor insulation;
1. Remove tape from Wago connectors.
2. Disconnect the Wago connectors by lifting the orange tab of the solid core wires (black and white of the Romex cable).
Feed the yellow sheathed Romex cable further into the box until the compromised conductor section extends 150mm (3 inches) from the outside edge of the box.
Cut the white & black wires at the compromised insulation.
Strip 13mm ( “) of insulation from the end of the Romex cable wire ends.
There is a gauge on the Wago connector for reference.
Insert each stripped wire fully into the Wago connector.
Push the orange tab down and pull test the connection.
Wrap each reassembled Wago in electrical tape.
Reassemble the junction box and air conditioner shroud.
Plug coach into shore power and turn battery disconnect ON.
In the climate screen of the multiplex system, turn the air conditioner on and confirm that it is functioning.
Chronology :
ON MAY 4/2023 DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE INSTALLER WAS INCORRECTLY STRIPPING THE OUTER SHEATHING (CABLE JACKET) OF THE ROMEX WIRING; CUTTING IT HORIZONTALLY ACROSS THE WIRES WHICH RESULTED IN THE INNER CONDUCTOR WIRE INSULATION ALSO BEING CUT. THE INSTALLED DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF ACCIDENTLY COMPROMISING THE CONDUCTION INSULATION OF THE CABLE.
THE DEALER WILL CLAIM REIMBURSEMENT ON A WARRANTY APPLICATION FORM. THE RV SERVICE CENTER OR RETAIL OWNER WILL BE PAID DIRECTLY BY TRIPLE E RV. A RV SERVICE CENTER OR RETAILOWNER WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR COSTS INCURRED FOR REPAIR PRIOR TO THE RECALL NOTIFICATION.
