These vehicles fail to comply with the requirement of the FMVSS number 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages” FMVSS 1 : 210 – Seat belt assembly anchorages FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : Improper anchoring of the rear and forward facing Dinette seat belt brackets may allow the seat belt brackets to loosen or pull out and not restrain passenger(s) if involved in accident which could lead to personal injury or death. Description of the Cause : Production error. Production installed the incorrect rear and forward facing Dinette seat belt brackets. Address : 107 Industrial Parkway East Middlebury Indiana 46540 Country : United States Chronology : On January 17, 2023 production emailed Jayco compliance that certain Jayco Redhawk SE units were built with the incorrect rear and forward facing seat belt brackets resulting in bracket bolts missing the floor framing. One January 17, 2023 the Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) discussed the incident and determined it should be elevated to CPAC. On January 18, 2023 the Corrective and Preventive Action Committee (CPAC) met to discuss this incident and elevated it to the Safety Steering Committee. On February 13, 2023 the Safety Steering Committee voted in favor of proceeding with a noncompliance recall for failing to comply with FMVSS number 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages” Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : The correct rear and forward facing Dinette seat belt brackets will be installed by a Jayco dealer at no charge to current owners. Repairs made prior to the recall will be reimbursed in accordance with our Recall Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA. There are no warranty claims or complaints associated with this recall. Jayco Inc. will be reporting the quarterly completion rates to NHTSA. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Remedied units will have the correct rear and forward facing dinette seat belt brackets installed. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : As of January 17th 2023, Jayco production has installed the correct rear and forward facing dinette seat belt brackets and also repaired all units onsite that were built with the incorrect rear and forward facing dinette seat belt brackets.
