The collision warning alert goes of sporadically at the most random times when there is actually no threat at all around the vehicle. This will cause (as it is intended to do) the driver to reactively fully apply the break quickly, which could cause injury such as whiplash in an unnecessary event or worst case a rear end collision.This has happened when driving down straight roads with no other vehicles. This has happened when going around bends in the road. This has also happened when driving next to things like corn fields, through forestry areas, next to road signs, etc. No error message occurs or anything and this does not seem to have a specific environment for reproduction. Summary
[XXX] was driving the 2014 F150 on a multi lane state road in the afternoon on a sunny and dry afternoon. The vehicle was traveling straight with steady traffic at an intense rate of speed (approximately 45-50 mph) when it all of a changed gears and became difficult for the [XXX] to control, causing the vehicle to hit a guard rail. There was no contributing factors to the accident other than the vehicle's malfunction (i.e. no negative weather, road signals, other vehicles, animal or plant obstructions, intersections, driver error, etc.). At the time of the impact, all of the vehicle's airbags deployed and the driver's seatbelt locked in place. There were no personal injuries - only property damage to the outside of the vehicle, the airbags and seatbelt. Thus far, Ford has refused to replace the airbags, seatbelt/repair the vehicle's property damage despite repeated requests. Ford only fixed the software problem associate with the recall and has taken the position that is the only remedy they are required to do. According to the dealership diagnostic assessment, the engine has two holes in the block as a result of connecting rod bearing failure. My Kia Sorento engine is a V6. This is a known issue in the Kia Sorento 2.4L for which a recall/extended warranty was granted. The Kia tech service line is denying any assistance with repair/replacement of my engine exhibiting the same engine failure results as the 2.4L engine. The day the engine blew, the oil level was full prior to drive, on the interstate it began sputtering and rattling, the engine then made the sound of a pop or muffled explosion and the car ceased to run causing us to have to quickly divert across lanes of traffic to get safely to the shoulder. Once stopped, the car was noted to have a pool of oil underneath and would ceased to drive.

Summary
Low beam projector bulb prematurely fails. Replaced under warranty and failed again. Due to dynamic bending feature dealer recommended replacing entire assembly at a cost of $1500. High beam and dynamic bending works, just low beam out of service. Seems like a less costly option to replace LED bulb. Online research lead to other owners reporting similar failures and replacement cost. Some owners replaced control module which fixed the issue, so it is possible that this is controller fault. But a non-working headlight is a safety issue as well as traffic violation. Is this an issue for this agency?

Engine loss of power - engine failure. My vehicle was serviced regularly with Ford dealership. Just weeks after an oil change at dealership I had sudden catastrophic engine failure. They found metal in my oil and stated my engine had failed due to faulty pump. I contacted ford dealership and customer service center, and they refused to repair as I was about 125864 miles (25k over warranty) on a truck they told me would last 400k with proper Maintenace. I have been making my monthly payments on this large paperweight and now there is a recall, and I still cannot get ford to repair the vehicle

Summary
Each time gas tank is filled completely, there is a strong fuel smell that lasts for a couple days. recently vehicle was parked facing down an incline after a recent fill and gasoline smell became very strong and an oily (shiny rainbow) slick noted leaking from under where the vehicle was parked. I believe this indicates that there is damage to the fuel tank near the top of the tank. I have started filling the tank 2/3 only and do not have the gas smell with that. Have had the vehicle for about 10 months and noticed the smell the first time I filled with gas, but did not suspect it was caused by a leak until recently. There is an "emissions system" error on dash. No issues with vehicle performance / operation.

Turn signal does not cancel. Intermittent problem that occurs infrequently. Safety concern because turn signal may signal for one direction when driving the car to the opposite direction. I am reluctant to pay about $250 to dealer to diagnoise because issue is intermittent. Dealer refuses to note complaint on customer records without diagnosis. I called customer care and reported issue, 4/15/25 case # 92675100. Customer care requested to have dealer diagnose, but I explained that issue is intermittent and difficult to reproduce.

Summary
Car throws a B1018 DTC, which is for the passenger seat occupancy sensor. The seat occupancy sensor failing poses a major safety risk, as it causes the airbags to not deploy properly in the event of a crash. This is a very well known issue for the 2011-2012 LEAF, and the only option Nissan gives to fix this is a full seat replacement, which is cost prohibitive at over $3000. Previously, a recall was issued for 2013-2016 LEAFs for a similar issue, but the 2011-2012 was not included in that recall.
