6. Install 4 silver straps, part # 5109971, one strap on each bolt on the forward side of the tank. The straps will be secured between the lip of the water pan and the washer plate, part # 5124435. (Photo 5)

8. Install the other end of the silver support straps at the rear of the water pan, one to each bolt and secured between the lip of the water pan and the washer plate, part # 5124435. (Photo 5)

9. Install 4 bolts on the rear side of the water pan.

10. Drop and remove the floor jack.

11. Reconnect the tank heater and sensor.

12. Replace the hanger for the dump hose carrier and generator exhaust parts, if needed.

13. Re-torque the hitch bolts to 85-foot pounds.

14. Reinstall the 7-pin electrical connector harness

For Units that need the extra support only:

1. Remove dump hose carrier (Photo 1) and generator exhaust parts (Photo 2) if the unit is equipped with those options.

2. Undo 4 screws holding 7-pin electrical harness to bracket on hitch.

3. Use a floor jack to secure the water pan. (Photo 4)

4. Remove the 4 bolts at the forward side of the water pan.

5. Install 4 silver straps, part # 5109971, one strap on each bolt. The straps will be secured between the lip of the water pan and the washer plate, part # 5124435. (Photo 5)

6. Install new bolts on the forward side of the water pan and tighten.

7. Remove the hitch or loosen the hitch on either the drivers or passengers’ side until there is about ¼ inch of space between the hitch and the frame rail extensions. This will allow enough space to install the other end of the silver support straps to the rear of the water pan.

8. Remove the 4 bolts at the rear edge of the water tank.

9. Install the other end of the silver support straps to the rear side of the water tank, one strap to each bolt. The straps will be secured between the lip of the water pan and the washer plate, part # 5124435. (Photo 5)

Wayfarer Rear Center Water Pan Failure

Dear Wayfarer Owner,

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Tiffin Motorhomes has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists on the following models of Wayfarer motorhomes: 2018 24FW Wayfarers, 2019 24BW, 24FW, 24TW, 25QW & 25RW Wayfarers, 2020 24TW, 25QW & 25RW Wayfarers, 2021 25RW, 25SW & 25TW Wayfarers, and 2022 25RW, 25SW & 25TW Wayfarer Motorhomes.

It has come to our attention that on these certain Wayfarer Motorhomes, the area of attachment for the rear center water pan, which holds the rear center water holding tank in place, needs to be reinforced.   If the area of attachment is not reinforced, the rear center water pan may become loose from the frame of the motorhome which could cause the water holding tank to become loose or drop from the motorhome.

If the rear center water holding pan and rear center water holding tank were to become loose or break away, this could cause an accident which could lead to an injury.

Please arrange to take your motorhome to a reputable service center OR dealer of your choice to have the correction completed.  Please allow ½ an hour to have this repair completed, however if damage is found to the water pan, the water pan will need to be replaced and this could take up to 2 hours.  This work will be completed at no charge to you, the owner.

Once your appointment has been made, the dealer or service center you choose can contact Wayfarer Motorhomes to order parts, obtain working instructions and billing information.  They can contact Wayfarer by phone at 205-487-4710 or by email at winfieldservice@tiffinmotorhomes.com.

PLEASE NOTE: Parts will only be shipped to service centers or dealers.  Parts will not be shipped to owners.

If owners have paid in the past for any damages due to a failure of the rear center water holding pan, please submit a copy of the invoice that was paid by you, the owner, to the Wayfarer warranty department at the following address:   Wayfarer Warranty Department, 6524 State Hwy 129 North, Winfield AL 35594.  The Wayfarer Warranty Department may also be reached at 205-487-4710 or by email at winfieldservice@tiffinmotorhomes.com.

If you do not own the vehicle that corresponds to the identification number which appears on this Recall Notification, please return the notification to the Tiffin Recall Department with any information you can furnish that will assist us in locating the present owner.  You may also email this information to recalls@tiffinmotorhomes.com.

If you are unable to have the defect remedied without charge and within a reasonable time after you tender the vehicle for repair, please contact the Tiffin Warranty Department, at 1-256-356-8661, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Central Time.  You may also wish to notify the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington DC 20590, or phone 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153):  or go to https://www.safercar.gov.

Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.

We regret any inconvenience this action may cause, but feel certain you understand our interest in motor vehicle safety.
