Summary
Trans Tech Bus (Trans Tech) is recalling certain 2020 Roadstar, ST Aero and SST buses built on 2019 Chevrolet Express cutaway chassis. The specific models are AC139SSSA409,AC139SSSP500, CC139DMSA409, CC139DMSA500, CC139DMSP500, CC159DMSA509, CC159DMSA600,EC139DBSP400, SC139DSFP500, SC139DSSA409, SC139DSSA500, SC139DSSP500, SC159DSFP600, SC159DSSA509, SC159DSSA600, SC159DSSA603, SC159DSSP600, and SC177DSSA603.
The seatbelt-unfastened warning light will not illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the “on” or “start” position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
Remedy
Trans Tech will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. The recall began May 6, 2020. Owners may contact Trans Tech customer service at 1-845-988-2333.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
TransTech Bus has decided to conduct a recall on the behalf of General Motors LLC.
The processing of this recall will be performed solely by General Motors LLC and their Dealerships.
What the safety concern is:
According to General Motors LLC Recall: N192264500 the Safety Field Action Decision Authority (SFADA) has determined that certain 2019 model year vehicles built on GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Express Chassis’ may fail to conform to S7.3 of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 208, occupant crash protection. In these vehicles, the seatbelt – unfastened telltale will not illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the on or start position. There is no impact to the vehicle’s seatbelt systems, and the telltale will function normally after the five-second delay. A safety risk occurs during the five-second delay, the telltale will not alert the driver that the driver’s seatbelt is unbuckled, however there is no delay in the activation of the seat belt warning chimes. General Motors LLC has identified an error in the programing of the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
The Remedy:
To remedy the defect GMC / Chevrolet Dealerships will perform a software calibration(reprogram) to the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
What we are requesting you do:
Contact your local GMC / Chevrolet Dealer to schedule an appointment to have the software calibration performed at no cost to you. The estimated time of repair is 35 minutes, according to General Motors. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle for longer than the actual inspection time to fit into their regular service schedule.

Attention TransTech Bus Dealer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. No. 577.13, “Notification to dealers and distributors”.
TransTech has decided to conduct a recall on behalf of General Motors LLC. The processing of this recall will be performed solely by General Motors and their Dealerships. The defect exists on certain 2019 model year vehicles built on GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Express Chassis’. These vehicles may fail to conform to S7.3 of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 208, occupant crash protection. In these vehicles, the seatbelt – unfastened telltale will not illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the on or start position. There is no impact to the vehicle’s seatbelt systems, and the telltale will function normally after the five-second delay. Upon receipt of this Recall Notice, Transtech Bus on behalf of General Motors LLC is requesting that you provide notification of this Safety Recall to your customer/owner of the affected vehicles.
To remedy affected units, General Motors LLC Dealerships, GMC for Sienna Chassis’ and Chevrolet for Savanna chassis’ will provide the software calibration(reprogram) at no cost to your customer / owner.
If NHTSA Recall No: 19V-644 has already been performed no further action is required.
Also enclosed with this letter is a copy of the information that will be sent to each customer. Should you have any vehicles in your stock that require the recall service work, please make certain that these vehicles are corrected. As per Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 577.13 which states that it is a, “violation of Federal Law for a dealer to deliver a new motor vehicle or any new or used (including tire) covered by the notification under a sale or lease until the defect or noncompliance is remedied”.

GM Reprogramming
GM Diagnostic/Programming (TIS2Web)
Approved J2534 Device with TIS2WEB can reprogram 1996 and later All GM Modules.
To obtain the latest electronic controller calibration information for your vehicle, go to https://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web and enter the vehicle's 17 character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select 'Get CAL ID’.
You can then compare the latest part number with the actual number installed on the vehicle to determine if a reprogram is needed.
The Service Programming System (SPS) application is part of the TIS2Web system. To program an ECU, the SPS application must communicate with the vehicle control modules using the proper J2534 programming interface tool.

The Tech 2 supports model years 1996 and beyond. With the addition of the CAN Diagnostic Interface (CANdi) module, Tech 2 is fully backward compatible with current Tech 2 functionality and operates transparently when diagnosing non-CAN-equipped vehicles.
Servicing the next generation Global A vehicles will require the diagnostic software, GDS2, Global Diagnostic System 2 running on a local PC device while the MDI is connected to the vehicle. The GM MDI is the Global Diagnostic tool for future vehicles starting with Global A vehicles.
The GM MDI was introduced in the fall of 2007 for Pass-Thru programming and offers faster programming speed. It can be used to perform Pass-Thru programming on all vehicles built since 1996 and into the future. Click here to view a list of GDS supported vehicles.
