Incorrectly Assembled High Voltage Connector
A loose high voltage cable can cause a sudden loss of steering and drive power, increasing the risk of crash.

Summary
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MD vehicles. An incorrectly assembled high voltage connector could prevent the mechanical connector lock from properly engaging, allowing the high voltage cable to loosen.
Remedy
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and repair the mechanical connector lock as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 2, 2024. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack’s number for this recall is SC0467.

May 22, 2024 – May 31, 2024: Internal campaign of 21 units identified 2 units with faulty connections.
May 28, 2024: Product Safety Evaluation committee initiated a PSRI on this issue.
May 30, 2024: Findings from the investigation are reviewed by Product Safety Evaluation Committee and the recommendation is that this be brought to Product Safety Committee.
June 10, 2024: Additional findings from the investigation are reviewed by Product Safety Evaluation Committee and the recommendation is that this be brought to Product Safety Committee.
June 11, 2024: Product Safety Committee meets and decides that a product safety defect exists. The committee also determined that owners must be notified and strongly recommended to not drive their vehicles until repairs have been completed.
There have been no accidents or injuries related to this issue, there have been no warranty claims, field reports or customer complaints associated with this issue.
