Chronology :

On November 13th, 2023 – Terex Advance was notified of the issue by Hendrickson via Email.

November 15th, 2023 – Terex Advance and Hedrickson had a conference call to discuss the issue. During this we asked, based on their subject matter expertise, if this is a safety related issue. At that point they did not believe so, but were still determining that. However, they indicated that they were going to use there service network to inspect the trucks (equipped with the subject axles) and make repairs if necessary. At this time 6 of the 18 subject axles were still within Terex’s possession. Hendrickson subsequently came to our facility to inspect the axles and make repairs if necessary. 12 trucks, with the subject axle, were shipped prior to this meeting, and were under the possession of the customer. We worked with Hendrickson to put them in contact with the impacted customers so they could arrange to visit the customers location and inspect and remedy the axles involved.

March 19th, 2024 – Terex Advance received formal notification, by way of a NHTSA email, indicating that Hendrickson had filed a recall notification related to the specific axles they we discussed with Hendrickson on November 15th.

April 2nd, 2024 – Terex Advance after internal discussions and analysis of Hendrickson report, deemed this condition to be safety related. Therefore, a 573 defect report was authored. As of the authoring of this defect report, all 18 of the subject axles have been inspected and the remedy applied if necessary.
