Front Door Window Opens Unintentionally/Reverses from Fully Open Position (SY 116/25)

Front power window motor

Symptom:

Front door window on driver's side and/or passenger's side opens/reverses intermittently from a fully open
position.

Information:

The parametrization with the front door window fully open is very sensitive and can lead to the
above-mentioned complaint.

Remedial
Action:

Check the complaint and re-code the front driver's side door control unit and front passenger's side door
control unit if it can be clearly confirmed.
Information
The minimum requirement for coding is the Porsche Tester software release 43.800.010 (or higher).

Battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A and a current and voltage-controlled charge map
for lithium starter batteries, e.g., VAS 5908 - battery charger 90 A. For further information about the

Checking complaint on front door window on driver's and passenger's side
Work Procedure: 1

Check and evaluate complaint on front door window on driver's and passenger's side.
1.1

Close the doors.

1.2

Establish readiness for operation.

1.3

Lower/open both front door window by starting up the vehicle.
The door windows remain in the “soft stop position”.

1.4

Actuate the “Open front door window” rocker switches 3x for both door windows.
The door windows move down to the “block position”.

1.5

Move the front door window out of the “block position”, raise/close it by starting up the vehicle
and check the smooth running of the window.

Required Porsche Tester software release:

Type of control unit coding:

Control unit coding using the 'A utomatic coding'
function for the respective control unit:
‘Front driver’s side door’ control unit and ‘Front
passenger’s side’ control unit – ‘Coding /
Programming’ menu – ‘Automatic coding’ function.

Coding sequence:

Read and follow the information and instructions on
the Porsche Tester during the guided procedure.
Do not interrupt coding.
When coding is complete, the message “Coding has
been completed successfully” is displayed and a tick
appears in the 'Status' box.

Perform standardization routine on both front door window windows (power windows standardization
run).

Repeat control unit coding.

Select Front driver’s side door or Front passenger’s side door in the Overview. Press •F12“ to
continue.
Should a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL) be created? Press •F11“ to continue.

Read out and delete all control unit fault memories.

End the diagnostic application, end readiness for operation and disconnect P90999 - Porsche Tester 4
from the vehicle.

Switch off and disconnect the battery charger.
