M1686: 2025 FAT BOY GRAY GHOST (FLSTFI) PAINT SURFACE CARE

• There are two layers of top clearcoat on the PVD. The final
top clearcoat (urethane) is compatible with Harley-Davidson
cleaning products.

Purpose for Service Bulletin
This bulletin informs dealers that the PVD painted vehicle
surfaces on the 2025 Fat Boy Gray Ghost (FLSTFI) require
special awareness and attention for care and cleaning.
The Fat Boy Gray Ghost (FLSTFI) rear fender, fuel tank and
front fender are PVD painted surfaces. DO NOT TREAT THESE
COMPONENTS AS CHROME.

• Harley-Davidson cleaning products are tested extensively
for use on motorcycle surfaces. These products are
formulated to be compatible with one another. See a
Harley-Davidson dealer to purchase recommended cleaning
products.
• Care, cleaning and protection of the vehicle surfaces is the
responsibility of the owner.
• Clean and protect the cosmetic surfaces on your motorcycle
as often as possible.

• Some painted finishes and other surfaces may be scratched
if gravel, dirt or grime are rubbed across the surface during
washing. Use clean towels and avoid rubbing sediment
across gloss finishes.
• Do not use paper towels, cloth diapers or other materials
with nylon fibers which can cause fine scratches to surfaces.
• For repair of scratched surfaces, see a Harley-Davidson
dealer.
