iX Sports Activity Vehicle

SITUATION
The (CCM) Check Control message: “811 – Stop carefully. Hood open”, is displayed even though the hood
is closed. Fault code 80415B “Engine compartment lid contact switch: Line fault or faulty” is often stored in
the BCP module.

CAUSE
Corrosion of the pin contacts in connector X149*1B.

CORRECTION
Inspect the washer fluid level sensor circuit for corrosion or fluid ingress. If fluid or corrosion is found,
replace all affected components, and repair the wiring harness.

PROCEDURE
In the event of a customer complaint, proceed as follows.
1. Make sure the hood is fully closed and no obstructions are present in the engine compartment.
2. Is CCM “811 – Stop carefully. Hood open” still displayed.
Yes: continue with step 3.
No: road-test the vehicle to ensure no further diagnosis is necessary.
3. Inspect wire harness plug connectors X149*1B, the washer fluid level sensor (B17) and, when equipped, the
Control electronics of washer pumps (A666) for corrosion.
4. If corrosion is present, replace the leaking components and any components that have been saturated/corroded
by the washer fluid.
