Following continuous monitoring of the quality of our product, it has been found that on the abovementioned vehicles it is
necessary to replace one of the crankcase’s closing screws.

32mm hexagonal insert
Medium treadlocker
Threebond 1207B liquid gasket

Intervention procedure:


The operations will be carried out on the crankcase closing screw accessible from the left side of the vehicle:



Remove the screw that fixes the gear shift lever:





Remove the gear shift lever from the selector shaft in order to gain space for removing the sprocket cover.
Remove the sprocket cover using a torx 30.
Remove the chain slider using a torx 30:

flatten the sprocket lock washer and remove the sprocket retaining nut using a 32mm insert.
remove the sprocket from the drive shaft and place it in the area below in order to have free access to operate on the
crankcase screw; If it is necessary to loosen the chain tension to facilitate removal of the sprocket:




Locate the crankcase closing screw and clean accurately the screw’s seat and all the area around the screw.
Remove using a torx 45 insert; the removed screw must NOT be reused.

take the new screw with rubber cod. M651-0111 and apply a well-distributed and adequate quantity of liquid gasket
Threebond 1207B on the entire screw’s contact surface and on the external surface of the rubber present on the new
screw; the liquid gasket must therefore be applied on the surfaces indicated in red colour in the picture:

install the new screw code M651-0111 in the crankcase, paying attention to ensure the correct position of the rubber
and tightening it to a torque of 10Nm + 60° using an angular torque wrench or 28 Nm with traditional torque wrench:

NOTE: if during tightening the screw the rubber tends to come out of its position you can help yourself with a finger
by pressing on the upper part of the same while tightening the screw.


Make sure that the rubber is positioned correctly and rests on the screw seat; it is possible to verify its correct
positioning by checking that the upper edge of the rubber is at the same height as the surface of the screw head in all
the points:




After tightening the screw, clean any excess of liquid gasket from the area.
Reassembly the sprocket and secure it using the newly supplied lock washer cod. SPMV8000B3312, applying medium
thread locker on the nut thread, and tightening to a torque of 140 Nm.
If the chain tension has been altered, restore the correct tension by following the instructions in the workshop manual.
clinch the safety washer around one face of the sprocket nut.
Reinstall the chain slider tightening the screw with a torque of 10Nm.
Reinstall the sprocket cover tightening the screws with a torque of 10nm and applying medium thread locker.






Reinstall the gear shift lever on the selector shaft and tightening at the torque of 10Nm. Pay attention to the correct
timing of the gear shift lever matching the two timing dots:





Wait at least three hours after completing the work to ensure the drying of the liquid gasket.
Start the engine and warm it up until the cooling fan turns on, in order to detect any oil leaks.
Perform a dynamic test of the vehicle to confirm compliance.
