NOTIFICATION OF RECALL:
MV Agusta
Motor S.p.A. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in
recent production motorcycles.
IDENTIFICATION OF VEHICLES POTENTIALLY CONTAINING THE DEFECT:
This recall involves 1098 motorcycles, built from 18 December 2013 to 10 March 2014. This recall
covers the subject motorcycle population in its entirety.
Please refer to the attached list for involved models and chassis numbers.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DEFECT:
We’ve discovered that some of our motorcycles were produced using a swingarm pin that is secured
by a non conformant fixing screw [part number 8000B2751] which is subject to potential failure
during normal use of the motorcycle.
In the interest of our customer’s safety, and as regulated by law, you may sell but not deliver to
customers before having substituted the component part number 8000B2751.
Notification to customers:
MV Agusta will notify all owners of registered vehicles and will instruct these owners to arrange an
appointment with an authorized dealer, specifying that the remedy is free of charge. An example
letter for customers is attached.
To protect the safety of our riders, it is our mutual responsibility to ensure the recall service is
performed on all affected motorcycles. Therefore, we strongly urge you to perform the recall service
even if the motorcycle was not purchased from your dealership.
You are also required to perform the recall service on all affected models in your dealership
inventory prior to delivering, renting or leasing those models.
If you are not sure that a safety recall has been completed on a particular motorcycle, please
contact MV Agusta Customer Service via e-mail ([email protected]).

IMPORTANT NOTICE
We request that you contact any owners of affected models that your records show as unregistered.
Advise them of the safety recall and make arrangements to remedy the defect on their motorcycle
as soon as possible. We also require that you activate their registration thereby enabling us to send
them owner’s letters via direct mail, as required by the law.
SHIPPING Swing arm pivot fixing screw P/N 8000B2751
The screws P/N 8000B2751, necessary to complete the remedy on delivered bikes, are going to be
shipped to you this week.
If it will be necessary to ship further items P/N 8000B2751, you will need to send us a spare parts
order as from normal procedure in use.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS– Swing arm pivot fixing screw P/N 8000B2751
- Remove the swing arm pivot fixing screw on the affected motorcycle.
- Take a new screw P/N 8000B2751 identified with stamp / green dot as shown in the picture below.
- Install the new screw, using the washer that was initially installed on the original screw, paying
attention to fix the screw with a tightening torque of 70-75 Nm.

Procedure for Warranty reimbursement:
Send a Warranty Claim for reimbursement of necessary part and labour including all the relevant
data regarding the motorcycle, entering the following codes:
・ Warranty Type= GS
・ Special Warranty Code= 2798
・ Spare Part P/N= 8000B2751
・ Operation Code: L 999
・ Labor: 0,3 Hours
・ Defect Code: 099
Please make note to the Service Bulletin N° 129.
The reimbursement of the warranty request will be carried out via Invoice as from the normal
procedure in use.
