Normally, the opening time for the fuel filler flap is 5 - 60 seconds. Plug-In HYBRID gasoline vehicles are equipped with fuel tanks that store pressure to help prevent fuel emissions from escaping during electric driving. This
pressure must be reduced before the fuel flap is opened. Depending on conditions (including high ambient temperatures, air pressure, and permanent electric driving), the venting period may last for up to 15 minutes. If the
LED in the refueling intention switch flashes and the instrument cluster warning "Tank venting" is shown, this is
not a malfunction.
The fuel filler flap can only be opened using the refueling intention switch.

Refueling intention switch was not operated (pulled).
At fuel levels greater than 75% and a vehicle engine-off time of greater than 6 hours, the LED in the refueling intention switch will not flash and an instrument cluster warning "Tank venting" is not shown and the vehicle was
driven less than 500 meters, therefore the refueling intention using the refueling intention switch was not accepted and will not open the flap.
A change was made beforehand to the codings / software on the vehicle. This rendered the engine-off time for
the vehicle invalid and the vehicle had to then be driven for at least 500 meters.
The vehicle's 12 V on-board electrical system had an interruption. This rendered the engine-off time for the vehicle invalid and the vehicle had to then be driven for at least 500 meters.

The minimum distance traveled of > 500 meters with a fuel level > 75% and an engine-off time of > 6 hours cannot be bypassed. During the driving distance, driving should be at > 30 km/h for at least > 3 seconds. It is irrelevant here if this is done under electric or conventional power. This ensures that any fuel that has entered the
vent line returns to the tank again before venting begins.
Refueling intention function OK Fuel filler flap opens: No further steps required.
Refueling intention function NOK: Perform quick test and check control units for fault entries.
If no faults are present: commission driver door control unit and engine control unit using XENTRY. After this,
drive for > 500 meters again, at for at least > 3 seconds the speed should be > 30 km/h.
Refueling intention function OK Fuel filler flap opens: No further steps required.
Refueling intention function NOK: Do not replace any component parts, please create a PTSS case.
