The additional cushion on front head restraint does not retain its position and it slips downwards.

Cause

This concept is designed to ensure that the additional cushion can be easily moved. This requires a certain amount of
play.
Under certain circumstances, the strap (vertical strap on the head restraint) may become overstretched if used improperly.
If stretched too far, the additional cushion will not be able to remain in its position and it may slip downwards.

Remedy

We recommend the following procedure in the event of a problem here:
a) Inform the customer about the proper method of use (see operator's manual).

b) Inform the customer about the concept involved here -> A certain amount of play is required to adjust the additional
cushion.
c) Check to see if the additional cushion is closed at the attachment marked in green (1) and not at red (2)! (Picture:

d) If the customer (b) does not accept this, the following repair solution can be used.
Repair solution:
1. Attach felt: (Picture: Model series 223 repair solution for additional cushion - Reparaturlösung Zusatzkissen.jpg)

Cut felt (A001 983 52 10) to length of 30 mm (2x).
Stick both felt sections on top of each other to have a felt piece with the dimensions (12 mm x 70 mm x 30 mm).

Note: There are 2 variants of the additional cushion: (Pictures in attachment show variant 2)

Variant 1 (two hook-and-loop tapes): Glue on the felt pieces stuck on top of each other at a distance of 60 mm
from the outer edge
Variant 2 (three hook-and-loop tapes): Glue felt pieces stuck on top of each other onto second hook-and-loop
tape (red marking).

2. Smooth out strap (vertical strap on head restraint): (Picture: Explanation, Erklärung - Strap.jpg)
Important: Only the strap on the front seat head restraint is to be processed here! The strap on the head restraint in
the rear passenger compartment must not be processed here, as it is made of imitation leather.

Carefully heat up strap using water vapor or hot air gun.
