2.3. Supply solenoid valve (SSV)
The supply solenoid valve (SSV)—called the “fuel shutoff solenoid” in Cummins
® INSITE™—opens or closes to
enable or stop fuel system flow by means of an inductive coil.
Supply solenoid valves on some systems are mounted between the high-pressure (HP) filter and the pressure
regulator. FIGURE 2–14

TABLE 2-1 and TABLE 2-2 resistance at temperature values are for standalone SSV
coil measurements only. Please contact Hexagon Agility® Customer Care and
Technical Services for Marathon extended range regulator integrated SSV coil
resistance at temperature values.
The supply solenoid valve (SSV) is powered by a pulse width modulation (PWM)
signal. The duty cycle is initially set to 100% (Full On) for two minutes and it
then ramped down to 80%. Therefore, the initial voltage measured will be equal
to Battery + and will be 80% of Battery + after ramp down.
