Cylinder Bracket Kit 240294 (-01) & (-02)
Introduction
This document contains installation instructions for the cylinder bracket kits,
240294-01 (15.8ʺ) and 240294-02 (17.8ʺ), for use on Hexagon
Agility® cylinders only. Each kit includes components
required for (2) bracket assemblies for securing a
single cylinder.
Mounting hardware for securing the base bracket
to chassis is not included and is the responsibility
of the system designer.
System designer is responsible for understanding and meeting any required standards
and regulations related to mounting the cylinder in the target application.
Do not attempt to install this bracket kit without first referencing Hexagon Agility®
Design Parameters (DP) document.

Rubber Isolation Strap Installation
Prepare base arcs and straps with supplied cut-to-length strap rubber:
Base arc:
a) Place arc rubber on top of the base arc and fully insert one side of
the arc into the lip of the ribbed rubber.
b) Insert the opposite side of the arc into the opposite lip. You may
need to work the rubber from one end of the arc to the other.
c) Rubber ends should be flush with the metal arc ends.
Strap:
a) Place notched strap rubber inside the strap and fully insert one
side of the strap into the lip of the ribbed rubber.
b) Insert the opposite side of the strap into the opposite lip. You may
need to work the rubber from one end of the strap to the other.

c) Strap rubber should be centered on strap and cover the end weld
of the knuckles.

The use of a soapy water can aid in lubricating the
rubber, along with the use of a screwdriver in
positioning the lip over the metal strap.

Base Bracket Installation
1. Bolt base to the mounting structure.
Mounting hardware for securing the
base bracket to chassis is not
included and is the responsibility of
the system designer.

2. Place base arc with rubber into the base and push until
all four tabs are inserted into the arc slots.

Attach Pivot Arc with Rocker
1. Insert cotter pin into one side of the
rocker. Insert the pivot arc into base
bracket while inserting rocker through
base bracket hole.
2. Insert remaining cotter pin into other
side of rocker, then crimp both cotter
pins as detailed below:

Cylinder Installation
1. Rotate the strap to the open position.
2. Move cylinder into base.
3. Rotate the strap to the closed position.

When moving or positioning refer to safe handling and lifting procedures for the
cylinder outlined by the manufacturer.
Lift apparatus must remain in position until both strap assemblies are properly
installed and torqued as outlined below.

Install Slotted Rocker and Nut Plate
1. Insert slotted rocker pin through base slot and strap knuckle. Rotate the knuckle so the slot is facing
outward. Insert 1/2" bolt through the hole of slotted rocker and confirm bolt head flats engage in the
slotted feature. Finally, rotate bolt and slotted rocker pin so bolt lines up with the base bottom hole.

2. Install the nut plate by placing it over the bolt and locating it in the base tabs. Insert 1/2" washer and 1/2"
lock-nut onto the bolt and hand-tighten.

3.

Torque the lock-nut to 45 ±5 ft-lb [61 ±6.8 Nm]
