Seat cover issue

No Case needed

For seat manufacturing issues like stitching problems
or rips, the seat can be replaced under regular
warranty (B.E.S.T. does not cover seat). To process
the claim you will be asked to attach a picture of the
defect. Please take 2 pictures, one showing the entire
seat and indicate where the defect is, and another
picture close up of the defect. Make sure the focus is
good.

This process will help provide future improvements.

Reinforcement Bracket
Difficult To Install

No Case needed

A unit may present difficully for the installation of the
reinforcement bracket, the rear shock upper bracket may
have slightly deformed the frame and made it more
difficult to install and torque the 4 tail bolts.

Follow the steps in the linked TST to to get those bolts in
place,

Background: Only on 2014, 2015 RS/ST/RT/F3 units
(new D,E.S.S, module), D.E.S.S. ERROR is displayed in
the Cluster, unit will not start. this is intermittent and
unpredictable.

Factory Feedback: Investigation led towards the
D.E.S.S, module itself. MY16 D.E.S.S, module has new
logic which increases the time of key detection.

Actions moving forward: 2014 & 2015 units - Refer to
linked TST.

If code is alone or
only code from TCM

P196B - TCM - Syslem low pressure

If this is the only code from the TCM for oil pressure and
there are no shifting symptoms from cst then it should be
cleared and no further action is required. If the unit has
symptoms relaling to system pressure being too low then
other codes from the TCM will accompany this one

Fuel pump noise
louder

Refer to linked TST,

No damage will occur nor will the unit be
stranded due to fuel pressure issues. Noise
remains an irritant without consequences.

Conditions for noise to be present:

Engine compartment has reached normal operating
temperaure - warmed up - running for a while.
Engine at idle (lots of fuel being regulated)

Warm engine wtih key ON (no start), pump primes
and makes noise.

Condition when noise is not present:
Cold engine

Rear suspension is too
soft or seems to bottom
out.

No Case needed.

New F3 rear shock ass'y for 240+lbs loads.

The target date for this shock kit to be available is for
Xmas, that's right, end of December.

Target price is 250$ USD.

Part number is 219400739. ETA in BOSSWeb is early
November but from my sources it's rather end of
December, so in order not to generate any frustration
keep itas a last minute stocking sluffer.

It will be only for 2015/16 F3/F3-S models with vehicle
loads above 240lbs (driver/passenger/saddlebag).
Keeping the vehicle stability system within the proper
functional range is also important so don't think itis a
super stiff shock/spring ass’y as riding 1up needs to
remain acceptable. This rear shock/spring assembly
is a customer option therefore customer will pay for
this option.

Keep in mind that the PAC seat options are also a great
addition to increase comfort. The extra padding and foam
densily literally adds inches of absorption.

Belt vibralion

At what speed and RPM is the vibration felt?

Refer to linked TST for bell tension recommendalions
and explanations.

Confirm the belt tension at 3 different positions of rear
wheel. If the belt tension changes more than 250N
between 2 readings this would indicate an out of round
rear sprocket which should be replaced. (repeat tension
measurements to be sure the difference is consistant).
BRP will cover under regular warranty within 4000km or
2500 miles the verificalion and adjustment of the belt
lension.,

Service parlECM
replacement causes
P1281 code

No Case needed

The F3 ECM has 2 particular configurations in relation to
the rear sprocket size (CAN/US vs International). Service
parl ECMs come with the calibration for International
units. When installed on a CAN/US unit the VCM will
trigger the code P1281 - Variant coding error. Itis telling
us (hat it doesn't recognize the ECM.

New B.U.D.S, R3,6.1 will allow to check a box to confirm
the unit has the CAN/US bigger rear sprocket, consult
linked TST.
