House Batteries Not Receiving a Charge When The Engine is Running

PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO YOUR RV SERVICE MANAGER.

Winnebago Industries is conducting a Field Service Campaign to verify that the dual battery solenoid is engaging when
the engine is running. If it is not operating per design, the attached instructions will provide repair direction.
Affected Vehicles and Owner Notification
Attached to this letter is a list of subject vehicles which were shipped to your dealership. Customers with affected
vehicles are being sent a letter notifying them of the service campaign. Owners are directed to contact a Winnebago
Industries dealer for the service campaign to be performed at no cost to them. A copy of the owner notice is provided
for your information.
Evaluate this issue on all subject vehicles currently in your inventory. Do not deliver any subject units to a customer
until this corrective action has been taken.

Parts Information:
To perform this repair, you will need a 3’ length of 14-gauge wire, a blue butt connector and a female terminal; you can
obtain these parts locally. If you are unable to locate a female terminal locally, you can order this from Winnebago
Industries.

RE: Installation of accessory run only feed wire
to battery boost switch to allow charge from
engine to house batteries.

1. Locate Ford accessory feed #2 run only wire
(white/light blue) under left side of dash or locate
KE wire in harness under dash area.

2. Run 14 gauge wire from accessory # 2 run only
feed wire or connect to KE wire from harness
under dash to # 4 terminal on battery boost switch.
# 4 terminal KE wire
Add this wire.
Note: This will allow house batteries to charge from
engine battery when engine is operating.
#2 terminal LR wire

Why We Are Contacting You
Winnebago Industries, Inc. dealers will verify and correct, if necessary, the dual battery charge feature on your coach.
This feature allows the engine alternator to provide a charge to your house batteries while the engine is running.
What You Should Do
Contact your Winnebago Industries, Inc. dealer soon to arrange for a service appointment. The repair will take less than
an hour, however please allow sufficient time for your dealer to process your vehicle on the date of your appointment.
Important
This campaign and the offer to provide this service are being done at no charge to you.. The offer for a no cost repair is
valid until November 30, 2012 at which time the campaign will be closed.
