Bed Lift Control Module Replacement
PLEASE FORWARD THIS INFORMATION TO YOUR RV SERVICE MANAGER.

Winnebago Industries is conducting a Field Service Campaign to replace the Revision A bed lift control module. It has
been determined that if the coach batteries become discharged slowly over time, it can cause the module to lose its
IN/OUT stop settings. If the room is operated without these stop settings, it is possible to over-travel the room and
cause damage to trims. The replacement ‘REV B’ module has a built in protection against this type of failure.
Affected Vehicles and Owner Notification
Attached to this letter is a list of subject vehicles which were shipped to your dealership. Customers with affected
vehicles are being sent a letter notifying them of the service campaign. Owners are directed to contact a Winnebago
Industries dealer for the service campaign to be performed at no cost to them. A copy of the owner notice is provided
for your information.
Replace the module on any affected coaches currently in your inventory. Do not deliver any subject units to a
customer until this corrective action has been taken.

LCI Electric Bed Control Replacement
Overview: It has been determined that if the coach batteries become
discharged slowly over time, it can cause the Lippert bed control
module to lose its IN/OUT stop settings. If the room is operated
without these stop settings, it is possible to over-travel the room and
cause damage to trims. Below are instructions for replacing the bed
control module along with the bed lift stop calibration procedure.

starting the procedure. If you have any questions,

dealer use only.

Procedure:
1. Locate the LCI bed control (15001-A) under the bed platform at the foot of
the bed. (Figure 1) Disconnect the positive wire, ground wire, up, down
and motor connector wiring. (Figure 2)
2. Install new revision control (15001-B). Connect motor wires, up, down,
positive wire and then ground wire. (Figure 2)

Note: The bed plunger switches are not adjustable
Caution: If the bed is run up too far, damage to the switch may result and the
slideout may not operate.
You may run the bed as far as it will go in the down position without causing
damage.
A blinking green light on the control indicates the down stop needs to be set.

1. To enter calibration mode, hold the ‘Configuration’ button down for 5
seconds. (Figure 2)
2. Use the wall switch to run the bed down until you hear the motor start to
labor. Avoid racking the bed frame.

3. Press the button inside the ‘configuration’ window, this saves the bottom
position in memory.
Note: Once the bottom limit is set, the red LED will start blinking indicating the
upper limit needs to be set.
4. Use the wall switch to move the bed up enough to set the switch clearance 15-19 mm/approximately 5/8” - 3/4”. (Figure 3 & 4)
Caution: If the bed is raised too far, damage to the switch may result.

5. Press the button inside the ‘configuration’ window, this saves the upper limit
position.
Once the top limit is set, both red and green LEDs will blink simultaneously for a
moment, this indicates the limits have been set successfully.

If an error occurs during configuration, the red and green LEDs will quickly
alternate flashing. Repeat calibration procedure as needed.

Why We Are Contacting You
Winnebago Industries, Inc. dealers will replace your Bed Lift Control Module. It has been determined that the module
may lose its programming if the batteries become completely discharged. If this happens, it is possible that the bed may
extend or retract too far and cause damage to the trims on the bed. The new revision module has built in protection to
retain the IN/OUT stop settings.
What You Should Do
Contact your Winnebago Industries, Inc. dealer soon to arrange for a service appointment. The repair will take less than
an hour, however please allow sufficient time for your dealer to process your vehicle on the date of your appointment.
Important
This campaign and the offer to provide this service are being done at no charge to you.. The offer for a no cost repair is
valid until February 2, 2013 at which time the campaign will be closed.
