e) Using the SST tighten the ring 740 to 760 degrees (more than 2 turns).
f) Position the mark on the ring within the range marks on the tank as shown below.
NOTE: DO NOT apply excessive force or angle the SST as this may cause the SST to slip off
the retainer.
DO NOT use an impact to tighten the retainer ring.
If the SST slips off the retainer stop and reposition the SST.

a) Reinstall the lines with the 2 joint clips.

a) Install the 4 new tank cushions as shown.

REINSTALL THE No. 3 TANK PROTECTOR
`Reinstall the No. 3 tank protector
with the 2 bolts and 3 claws.
TORQUE: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in*lbf)

INSTALL THE NEW TANK
a) Place the NEW tank on the transmission
jack.
b) Install the tank into the vehicle.
c) Reinstall the 2 straps.
d) Reinstall the 2 clips and pins.
e) Reinstall the 2 bolts.
TORQUE: 40N*m (408kgf*cm, 30 ft*lbf)

a) Align the vent line and the tank connector.
b) Push the vent line until it clicks in place.

-Control the Fuel Pump Speed

Test drive vehicle and recheck the area
around the retaining ring and suction
plate for leaks.

g) Check that the current fuel gauge
reading matches the recorded value.
h) Check and clear DTC’s
i) Shut down vehicle.
j) Check that the area around the service
port is clean.
k) Remove the tape.
l) Reinstall the service cover.

17. REINSTALL THE REAR CARPET
a) Reinstall center silencer pad.
b) Restore the rear carpet to it correct
position.
