43. Check the seat memory function, if OK proceed to step 55, if not OK, carry out the seat calibration
procedure below.
Care point: Ensure the vehicle is in ignition state 5 before calibrating seats.
Care point: It is necessary that the seat gauge 11S4089CP (8) is used to perform the seat calibration
process.

44. Ensure the seat is positioned in approximately a mid-mid position and the seatback is vertical.
45. Move the seat rearwards into its most rearward position.
46. Move the seat forwards by approximately 50mm.
47. Move the seat rearwards once more until it is in its most rearward position.
48. Move the seat downwards into its most downward position.
49. Move the seat upwards into its most upward position.
50. Move the seat downwards once more until it is in its most downward position.
Care point: The seatback angle can be adjusted backwards and forwards any number of times as long as
the seat remains in its rearmost lowest position.
Care point: The seat calibration gauge must be placed in the smallest gap between the seatback and the
B-Pillar trim in order for the calibration to be performed correctly.

51. Adjust the backrest angle until the desired gap between the seatback and the B-Pillar has been achieved
using the seat gauge. The gap must not be narrower than the smaller end of the calibration tool (9). The
tool should move freely between the seatback and the B-Pillar.

52. The gap must not be wider than the widest end of the calibration tool (10). If the seat is in the correct
position the tool should not be able to fit between the seatback and the B-Pillar.

53. Press and hold down the heater and memory buttons on the seat switch pack simultaneously for
approximately 5 seconds until a cluster sound is heard. Then move the seat to the mid-mid position.

54. If the cluster sound is heard no further action is required. If no cluster sound is audible repeat the
calibration process from steps 44 to 53.
HU SOFTWARE update:
55. Select HU (1), then Reprogramming (2), select the software variant applicable (3) then proceed to the
software download by selecting the tick button (4), followed by the arrow button (5). Select „YES‟ to
initiate programming.

ESP SOFTWARE update:
Care point: The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) update is only required on vehicles that have not had
campaign 11 M 039 previously carried out. Proceed to step 63 if not required.
56. Select ESP (1), then Reprogramming (2), select the software level 11M1125CP.04 (3), then proceed to
the software download by selecting the tick button (4), followed by the arrow button (5). Select „YES‟ to
initiate programming.

57. If the download is successful proceed to step 63.

58. After the preparation phase of the download the system may inform the operator that the “Erase of ECU
Flash Memory Failed”. In this circumstance the ESP control unit will require a power cycle (6).

59. Proceed and reflash the ESP module, when the Elapsed Time is between 1.20 to 1.28 seconds (7),
disconnect the ESP connector (9) and wait for 5 seconds before reconnecting. The “Preconditions failed”
will now be displayed. Proceed to step 61.

60. After the preparation phase of the download the system may inform the operator that the “Preconditions
failed”. In this circumstance the ESP control unit will require a power cycle (8).

61. Disconnect the ESP connector (9) and wait for 5 seconds before reconnecting.

62. Press the YES button within 5 seconds of reconnecting the ESP connector in order to complete the
software download (10).

SAS SOFTWARE update:
Care point: The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) update is only required on vehicles that have not had
campaign 11 M 034 or 11 M 036 previously carried out. Proceed to step 67 if not required.
63. Select SAS (1), then Reprogramming (2), select the software level 11M1099CP.04 (3) then proceed to
the software download by selecting the tick button (4) followed by the arrow button (5). Select „YES‟ to
initiate programming.

Care point: Ensure that the front wheels are pointing in the straight ahead position before continuing.
64. Once the software has been installed you will be required to fine tune the zero position. Within the SAS
section select Sequences (6), select Fine Tune Zero Position (7), and then press the arrow button (8).

Care Point: HVAC DTC‟s U015500 CAN Missing IC and B1A3700 Kept Awake may not delete, these can be
ignored.
65. Check for any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC‟s) within the DTC‟s section. If there are any stored
codes, proceed to clear them from the memory.

66. Start the engine, select Actual Values (9), followed by SAS Data Read (10), select the play button to
access the required data screen (11), turn the steering wheel left and right to full lock. Check that the
value reading is zero when the steering is central. Check the fault memory to identify if the DTC‟s have
repeated.

Care Point: DTC B1BE14A Occupant Restraint Controller Car Config mismatch may be logged, if logged

PCCU SOFTWARE update
Care point: During the downloading sequence the system may state preconditions or post conditions failed.
These are erroneous messages and can be ignored. Only a programming failed message should be noted
as a legitimate failure.
68. Select PCCU (1), then Reprogramming (2), select the software variant applicable to your market (3) (by
referring to the software table on page 2), then proceed to the software download by selecting the tick
button (4), followed by the arrow button (5). Select „YES‟ to initiate programming.

Care Point: Once the PCCU has been updated the new software level installed will display a global software
level of 11M0938CP.19.

69. Cycle the ignition (on off on) and wait for 30 seconds. Place the vehicle into a sleep mode, and then
establish the vehicle back into ignition state 5. Clear any DTC‟s before continuing on with the procedure.
