Dear Dealers,
This Service Bulletin is to provide the relevant part number and specification differences
between the previous model engines that require the Klinger type cylinder head gaskets and
the current engines that require the new Victor Reinz gaskets. In order to ensure a better
cylinder to cylinder head coupling, the new Victor Reinz gaskets have been introduced for the
Testastretta DVT 1262cc engines, and are installed on the above referenced models.
The new Victor Reinz gaskets feature additional rubber profiles on the metal gasket which,
unlike Klinger gaskets, do not require additional O-rings at the oil passage points. The
included table shows the gaskets with the relevant part numbers that can be installed on DVT
1262cc Testastretta engines:
ATTENTION
Due to the different position of the water pump, the Victor Reinz gaskets installed on
the Multistrada 1260 and XDiavel models are different. Also note that Victor Reinz
gaskets and previous Klinger gaskets are NOT interchangeable, due to the difference in
machining of cylinders.
NOTE
The Testastretta DVT 1262cc engine mounted on the Diavel 1260 model is already
equipped with the latest Victor Reinz gaskets for cylinder-cylinder head coupling.

In order to recognize the type of gasket installed on Testastretta DVT 1262cc engines, please
check the cylinder-cylinder head coupling in relation to the horizontal cylinder as shown in the
figure below:

Also note that the spare parts catalogue includes both gaskets, with no detailed information
regarding the serial numbers on which engine gaskets have been replaced. Therefore, before
placing any order, please pay close attention to the type of gasket already installed.
