Title: 4766-10 DPF Regeneration Feedback Fault
Applies To: 2010 MaxxForce 11 and 13 Engines
Description:
4766 fault codes can be caused by unexpected Aftertreatment
temperature/response times during active “Aftertreatment Regen Status”.
Resolution:
If SPN: 4766 FMI 10 (4766-10) is logged in the ECM, perform the following
steps:
1) Save Freeze Frame Data from all DTC’s (iKnow Article iK1200643)
***Prior to this step, DO NOT update the ECM calibration ***
2) Inspect the entire intake system and exhaust system for any air leaks and
damage (Correct before going to next step).
3) Inspect the fuel system from the fuel tank to the AFI for leaks, kinks, and
physical damage.
4) Inspect connections on all EGT's and check for any damage on the wires,
corrosion and damaged pins

5) Record 3 snapshots
1- OBFCT
2- AMT
3- 0-60mph using 100% throttle, shift at 1750 rpm
6) Open tech service case file
7) Attach all information from these steps at one time

SERVICES INC Feedback: This info for IK article was not known about prior to perfroming 'other' /
yet similar diagnostic steps where the actual 'freeze frame' data was printed but NOT saved to be
attached to a case file as suggested in this article. There was a 'healing' DTC in this instance so

DY19074 may have not constituted going through process of snapshots etc per article info. DTC was
2:18:53 PM
cleared , ran through air mgmnt test , perfromed Aftertreament Cleanliness test to which all was
observed to be appropriate with temps , harness connections etc....no issues. The only reason this
article was viewed was due to conversation with other tech in facility. * Suggestion: Additional link
should be highlighted with 'clarity' at heading of DTC troubleshooting if is to be an important step
required by Navistar
