SUBJECT: New ETM Software and New Update time
IMPORTANT: SW 18.10.60 is ONLY compatible with MY 2017 vehicles.

DESCRIPTION
Maserati Levante, Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles MY17 have new software available to update
the ETM Module.
The new s/w version is 18.10.60.
New time for ETM software updates changed from 0.75h to 0.5h.

The new Labor Operation code is: 8.71.223.5 (0.5h).
NOTE: Use this code when submitting claims for Service Campaign 351 and for any ETM
s/w downloads under warranty, contractual or spare parts.

Procedures
The 18.10.60 SW updates found on 4ME are for MY2017: Levante (M161) and Sedans (M156/7)
ONLY (Do Not Attempt to install on MY2018 vehicles)
- Purchase two 8GB or Larger USB (Pen) Drive and Format to “NTFS”.
- USB (Pen) Drives: 1 for the Levante (M161) and 1 for the Sedans (M156/7)

a. Go on the 4ME website and select the File for the Sedans (M156/7) Fig.a, or Levante
(M161), Fig.b.

b: Download the “NAFTA” File to your Desktop of your computer.
c: UNZIP the “NAFTA” folder once downloaded.
d: Open “USBStick_KaliSWDL_SystemOnly” folder then OPEN “KaliSWDL” folder.
e: Copy 5 Files contained in the KaliSWDL and save them into a new folder on your desktop.
f: Copy the 5 files and save onto your USB (Pen) Drive that you formatted earlier.
IMPORTANT: Before removing the USB (Pen) Drive, “Right–click” it in windows and select
“Eject”. PC will then prompt to safely remove the USB (Pen) Drive from the PC.
Additionally, when you perform software updates to the ETM, the system will revert back
to the factory settings and will erase all customer settings and memories.
Please advise your customers accordingly before beginning any software updates.

To check the software version currently in the ETM, go into the Settings menu and view Software
version.
1. Turn on the engine and then insert the Vehicle Specific Pen Drive into the USB socket.
NOTE: If the procedure doesn’t start or an error appears, open a BOL.
2. After inserting the USB (Pen) Drive, the s/w version on the USB (Pen) Drive (as an
example: 18.10.60) will appear on the screen. (Fig.1) Press “Si” (Yes) to start loading the
S/W. and a system reset will start. (Fig.2)

3. The download could take approx. 45 minutes.(Fig’s 3 and 4)

4. After the S/W download is complete, wait for the system to reboot and then press “Accept”.

5. After pressing “Accept”, press “No” (Fig.6) at the next screen and remove the USB (Pen)
Drive. (Pressing “No” will stop the system from restarting the s/w update).

6. Enter the ”Engineering Mode” by pressing the “Left Temp up” & “Sync” buttons at the same
time. (Fig.7)

7. Scroll through the “Engineering Mode” and locate “Reset to factory default” then press
“Reset to factory default”. (Fig.8)

8. At the next screen, press “Yes” and wait for the system to reboot. (Fig.9)

9. After the system reboots, DO NOT press “Accept”. (Fig.10)

10. Cycle the KIN to “OFF” then to “RUN” WITHOUT starting the engine.
11. Connect the Maserati Diagnostic tool, go into the ETM select “PROCEDURES” and
perform “LEARN VEHICLE CONFIGURATION” and wait for the Procedure to complete.

12. With the MDEVO, select CHECK VEHICLE and launch CLEAR ALL DTC.
13. Test the ETM system operations.
14. Procedure is complete.
