• DTC P046100 (Fuel level sensor, circuit range/performance) is stored in the engine control module (ECM
J623).

Technical Background
DTC P046100 can be caused by miscalculations within the ECM software when the vehicle is being filled with
gasoline while the ignition is on.

Production Solution
New ECM software implemented to correct the condition.

IMPORTANT: The following instructions apply to vehicles with 2.0TFSI and 3.0TFSI engines only.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732, 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the ECM (J623) using the SVM action code as listed in the table below.
3. After SVM update, cycle the ignition.
4. Start the engine. If engine runs rough and then surges, cycle the ignition once again.
5. Reset TPMS.
