5) Tighten the 2 clutch master cylinder M6x1 (7) screws to a torque of 10 Nm ± 10% and the
hand guard M5x0.8 screws (8) to a torque of 5 Nm ± 10%.

6) Connect the connector (9) to LH switch.

7) Tighten M6x1 screw (10) securing hand-guard to handlebar to a torque of 10 Nm ±10%.

WARNING
Check that turning the handlebar fully to the
right and to the left there is no interference
with the fuel tank and headlight fairing.
If there is some interference, work on
handlebar position between the stud bolts
and the U-bolt with small movements.
If these measures prove ineffective, use
stop adjusters to reduce the steering angle
and tighten the adjuster lock nut to a torque
of 18 Nm ± 5% with Loctite 243.

Rear-view mirror assembly
1) Place RH (1) and LH (2) rear-view mirror on the relevant supports fastened onto the handlebar.
2) Tighten M10x1.25 screws (3) and (4) to a torque of 40 Nm ± 10%.

Install mirror hole blanking rubber caps

3) Apply the DESMO SERVICE 30000 km sticker to both rear-view mirrors.

Battery initialization
WARNING
Read carefully filling, charging and installation instructions before operating on the battery.
After filling the electrolyte, it is necessary to let the battery rest for at least 30 minutes.
Always charge the battery upon the first operation and after long storage periods – such as before
selling the vehicle. Leaving the battery discharged for more than one month could damage it; always
use the Ducati battery charge maintainer part no. 69924601A.
Only use constant voltage battery chargers (as specified under Bulletin 909-SAT, Ducati Service
approved battery chargers for lead-acid batteries are the following: Yuasa: MB2023, MB2020,
MB2040, MB2060 and TecMate: BatteryMate 150-9, BatteryMate 60-3, Optimate Pro Series).
Check that battery terminals are properly connected to the battery charger.
To recharge the battery, follow the instructions on the battery; for more details, refer to the table:

2) Loosen 2 M6x1 screws (1) on LH and RH side retaining the rider seat and remove it.

3) Remove the M5x0.8 screw retaining BBS control unit support bracket/battery.
4) Install rubber mount (2) on the battery as shown in the figure.

5) Fit the battery into the battery compartment.
WARNING
Align the reference hole on rubber mount (2) with the plastic pin in battery compartment.

6) Connect vehicle positive cable (3) and ABS positive cable (4) to battery positive terminal and
negative cable (5) to the negative terminal.
Tighten 2 screws (6) to a torque of 3 Nm.

7) Install the BBS control unit support bracket/battery and tighten M5x0.8 retaining screw (7) to a
torque of 5 Nm ±10%.
