Bodyshell complaints concerning door frame, outside door panel and lower inside of door.
Cause:

Process parameters in bodyshell
Remedy:

Determining the repair scope:
In the event of a customer complaint, all the doors must be checked for signs of corrosion.

1. Open the door to be checked.

2. Detach rubber seal at top and bottom of door.

3. Clean rubber seal.

4. See attachment "Cross section of window frame".

5. Perform visual inspection for corrosion in areas (A and B). Select remedy according to related damage.

6. In area (C), use mirror to check for corrosion.

7. Select remedy according to related damage.

Remedy 1: Corrosion in non-visible area (B and C) under rubber seal:

7.1 See document AR97.00-P-1001F. (repair stage 1).

Remedy 2: Corrosion also in visible area where paint can be touched up (A): .

7.2 See document AR97.00-P-1002F (repair stage 2).

Remedy 3: Corrosion also in visible area where paint cannot be touched up on outside door panel near door handle

and central trim strip. Also spot corrosion on lower inside of door, which can be touched up with a brush with no additional painting work: .

7.3 See document AR97.00-P-1003F (repair stage 3).

Remedy4:

a) Corrosion in area (E) after cutting off the fold:See attachment "Fold on window frame".

b) Corrosion in visible area where paint cannot be touched up on outside door panel and corrosion on lower inside of

door which cannot be touched up with a brush.
