Complaint:
Bodyshell complaints concerning door frame, outside door panel and lower inside of door.

Cause:
Process parameters in bodyshell

Remedy:
Determining the repair scope:
In the event of a customer complaint, all the doors must be checked for signs of corrosion .
1. Open the door to be checked .
2. Detach rubber seal at top and bottom of door.
3. Clean rubber seal.
4 . Perform visual inspection for corrosion in areas (A and B). Select remedy according to damage profile. For areas,
see attachment "Cross section of window frame".
5. In area (C) , use mirror to check for corrosion. Select remedy according to damage profile. For area, see attachment
"Cross section of window frame" .
6. Perform preparatory work for corrosion (prepare machines/equipment, tool up and cover the vehicle)
Remedy 1: Corrosion in non-visible area (Band C) under rubber seal : See document AR97 .00-P-1001F.
7.1 Eliminate bodyshell complaints concerning window frame (repair stage 1).
Remedy 2: Corrosion also in visible area where paint can be touched up (A) : See document AR97 .00-P-1002F.
7.2 Eliminate bodyshell complaints concerning window frame (repair stage 2).
Remedy 3: Corrosion also in visible area where paint cannot be touched up on outside door panel near door handle
and central trim strip. Also spot corrosion on lower inside of door, which can be touched up with a brush with no additional painting work: See document AR97.00-P- 1003F.
7 .3 Eliminate bodyshell complaints concerning door (repair stage 3).
Remedy 4: a) Corrosion effects in area (E) after cutting off the fold : See attachment "Fold on window frame".
b) Corrosion in visible area where paint cannot be touched up on outside door panel and corrosion on lower inside of
door which cannot be touched up with a brush.
7.4 Replace front door.

8. Replace rear door.
