Complaint:
Sliding door in partition wall cannot be locked in open position.

Cause:
The locking sleeves (1) of the two dips (2) of the catch (3) can become deformed. Because of this, the locking pin (4)
can no longer engage correctly in the catch (3) (arrows}, see: picture 01.jpg.

Defective sliding door catch

Remedy:
Making a hole in the partition wall (repair point from cab side} and replacing the door catch with a new part. The hole
must then be closed and bolted down with a shop-made metal plate.
To do this, perform the following steps:
IMPORTANT: The reoair measure must be performed in accordance with the pertinent legislation of the USA.
1.
Move driver seat to forward position.
2.

Fold backrest of driver seat forward.

3.

Move seat belt out of working area and fasten in position.

4.

Close load compartment door.

5.

Transfer dimensions (A, B, C, D and E} onto partition wall (see: picture 03.jpg}.
NOTE: The sketch shows the view from the driver seat (cockpit} to the rear in the direction of the load compartment (see: picture 02.jpg). The origins for the dimensions are the carriage bolts (5) on the partition wall (see: picture 03.jpg).

Cover driver seat.

7.

Saw out, remove and deburr marked cutout in partition wall.
CONDITION: The piece of the partition wall to be cut out must be secured so that ii cannot slip into the gap between the rear partition wall cover plate and the front partition wall.

IMPORTANT: When sawing, make sure that the length of the saw blade including the maximum stroke does not
exceed 73 mm.
CAUTION: If this is ignored, there is a risk of collision between the saw blade and the rear wall, which can result
in damage or injury.

SAFETY NOTE: Hearing protection, working gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes and protective clothing must
be used.
Diagonally above the lower carriage bolt (5) mark a locating hole (6) (dimensions G and F) and drill with 05.1
mm. Then lock the bracket (8) with a punch (05 mm) (see: picture 03.jpg and picture 04.jpg).
CAUTION: A drilling depth of 35 mm must not be exceeded. If this depth is ignored, there is a risk of damaging
the rear wall.

SAFETY NOTE: Hearing protection, working gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes and protective clothing must
be used.
Unscrew nuts (7) of bracket (8) (see: picture 04.jpg).
IMPORTANT: Secure tool to prevent it from falling.

10.

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be used for this.
Remove bracket (8) with catch (3) and then remove the punch (05 mm).

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be used for this.
Mark position of catch (3) on bracket (8), then remove catch (3) (see: picture 04.jpg).
NOTE: To do this, unscrew the nuts (9).

12.

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be used for this.
Install new catch (3) al marking on bracket (8).
NOTE: To do this, screw the nuts (9).

13.

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are lo be used for this.
Insert punch (05 mm) into locating hole (6), position bracket (8) on partition wall and secure.
IMPORTANT: Install catch (3) and bracket (8) without locking pin (4).

14.

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be used for this.
Screw on nuts (7) of bracket (8) (see: picture 04.jpg).

15.

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are lo be used for this.
Open sliding door of partition wall until it is visible in the cutout in the partition wall and secure with a suitable
wedge.

16.

Remove locking pin (4) of partition wall sliding door.

17.

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be used for this.
Install new locking pin (4).

Remove wedge.

Move the partition wall sliding door slowly up to the catch (3) and check whether the locking pin (4) is centered
on the catch (3).

20.

Open partition wall sliding door.

21.

Tighten nuts (7) of bracket (8) and recheck the closing process (see: picture 04.jpg).

SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be used for this.
Prepare cover panel for cutout in partition wall and fasten (see: picture 06.jpg).
NOTE: Use galvanized sheet steel and fasten with sheet metal screws.
NOTE: Deburr cover panel.

23.

SAFETY NOTE: Hearing protection, working gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes and protective clothing must
be used.
Clean vehicle interior in repair area.
