I bought the car brand new in December 2024. About 3 months later I had to get the struts replaced and had multiple problems that Honda deems as “fine”. The AC cooling is terrible and worse that my 2009 Dodge and 2015 Accord. The steering wheel has a springy rattling noise, and the phone won’t connect to the car at random times. They replaced the struts after returning twice. One year later in March my SRS warning light came on and the dealership fixed it a total of 3 different times, each time not taking care of the problems. They also broke and scratched pieces of my car, failed to put my oil cap back on, and left my car in poor condition when returning it back to me. So far, the SRS system warning hasn’t came back on but still worried because I have kids and don’t want to get into a wreck and something fail.

I am reporting a serious engine failure involving a 2017 Ford Escape SE AWD 2.0L EcoBoost, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle was purchased in October 2024 as a Ford Blue Advantage Certified vehicle from Lithia Ford of Boise with approximately 32,000 miles. The vehicle currently has approximately 45,000 miles. In June 2026, the vehicle developed a check engine warning light while being driven in [XXX]. Prior to this event, the vehicle had shown no unusual symptoms, warning signs, or performance issues. The vehicle was inspected by an independent automotive repair facility, Meridian Automotive in [XXX], and was diagnosed with coolant intrusion requiring replacement of the long block engine assembly. The estimated repair cost is approximately $9,000–$10,000. This is a major engine failure occurring at only 45,000 miles and after approximately 13,000 miles of ownership since purchase. 4 times now when the vehicle, 2 times while the vehicle is moving forward and 2 times while the vehicle was moving in reverse the engine has completely shut off and the car stopped moving. The dash said the engine was off and the vehicle needed to be shifted to park and the engine turned back on. During this time the vehicle also lost power steering and brakes. I’ve taken it to the dealership multiple times and they could not diagnose the issue or duplicate it and tell me I need to pick the vehicle up and to just bring it back again.
