Vehicle emissions out of the dashboard defroster vents deposit a sticky, chemical film onto the inside front windshield, causing severe driver vision impairment. The chemical vapor triggers immediate respiratory irritation and dizziness, presenting an imminent risk of a motor vehicle crash.Defect / Nonconformity: The vehicle suffers from a severe HVAC or interior component material failure causing toxic off-gassing. An official Toyota FTS report (RO #116504) documented dangerous TVOC levels of 9.455 mg inside the vehicle. The manufacturing defect substantially impairs the safety, use, and commercial value of the vehicle. I did not have car seats in trunk, the time completed on report is changed, they will no longer inspect car. Specialist (FTS) report explicitly logs TVOC levels at 9.455 mg (3 PPM) inside the cabin. I was driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe on a public road when the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of propulsion. Before driving, the check engine light was illuminated, and the air conditioner was blowing hot air instead of cold. Shortly after pulling onto the roadway and while approaching a stoplight, the vehicle lost power while it was still in motion and became inoperable, requiring it to be towed to the dealership. The dashboard displayed “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System.” The vehicle has fewer than 20,000 miles. I believe this is a serious safety concern because the loss of propulsion occurred while driving, leaving me stranded in traffic. I no longer feel confident in the safety and reliability of this vehicle.

I recently took my 2016 Kia Sorento L to the Kia dealership for the Emissions update recall. The next day when I started it up and put it in drive, it started jerking hard when I was trying to speed up (going from first to second gear). I had to stop and then slowly push the gas so it wouldn't jerk so hard, then it finally switched gears and was smooth. Ever since it's happening only at the first cold start up of the day, and have sluggish acceleration throughtout the day. No lights on or codes. I took back to dealership twice and they said they couldn't replicate it and so they aren't sure, but it definitely still does it (anyone riding with me notices before I even mention it).

Vehicle Component Affected: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM / FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE / BACK OVER PREVENTION Description of the Safety Defect: The factory infotainment touchscreen in my 2015 Subaru Outback Limited (VIN: [XXX]) has suffered a severe manufacturing defect where the internal chemical gel adhesive has melted, creating large, oily liquid bubbles across the display. This physical degradation causes the screen to suffer from continuous "ghost touches," registering non-stop phantom inputs while the vehicle is in motion. This hardware failure creates three active, severe driving safety hazards: DANGEROUS OPERATOR DISTRACTION: The ghost-touching triggers a loud, high-pitched, non-stop audible dinging sound through the speakers that cannot be muted, severely compromising driver focus on the roadway. INOPERABLE NAVIGATION CONTROL: The system recently registered phantom touches that autonomously programmed a random destination into the factory GPS. The system then overrode all driver controls, preventing me from canceling the navigation instructions or turning off the screen audio while driving. OBSCURED BACKUP CAMERA VISIBILITY: The large, oily chemical delamination bubbles create a severe visual distortion on the screen. In direct or bright sunlight, the backup camera image is completely unreadable and obscured, creating an active striking hazard to pedestrians and vehicles behind me. This manufacturing defect began approximately in Jan 2023 and has gotten progressively worse over time, transitioning from minor cosmetic bubbling to severe, non-stop hardware malfunctions. This component failure is an active driving hazard that completely compromises driver attention and vehicle safety systems. Subaru of America is aware of this chemical breakdown across this generation of head units but is refusing to remedy the safety defect out of warranty. Summary
My minivan has had repeated electrical and safety-related failures since shortly after it was leased. The vehicle has died or failed to start five times, including multiple tow events. The first battery failure happened shortly after delivery, but we thought a light may have been left on and did not know to bring it in. The problem continued. The dealer has replaced the battery, recharged the battery, replaced the alternator, and later found an excessive parasitic draw, but the electrical problems have continued. The failures affect more than starting. The sliding doors have failed 30+ times by refusing to close and acting like something is blocking them when nothing is there. This creates a safety concern because passengers may not be able to safely enter, exit, or secure the vehicle. The instrument cluster has gone black on startup in Park about 10 times and has also blacked out or faulted while in use. A brake failure warning light appeared once. The backup camera intermittently dims so badly that I cannot see behind the vehicle while reversing. A service advisor observed this issue, but the technician could not reproduce it during inspection. The DVD/interior electronics, USB charging, and wireless phone charger have also failed. The power tailgate/trunk malfunctioned repeatedly before repair, including problems opening or closing and clicking. The front driver and passenger windows also do not roll down smoothly. The front window still shakes or drags even after two repair attempts. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized service centers and is available for inspection upon request. The exact root cause is unknown, but based on the repeated dead battery, charging, parasitic draw, door, display, camera, brake warning, interior electronics, and power window failures, the pattern appears consistent with an unresolved electrical or charging-system defect.
