The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. While driving at various speeds, the brake pedal vibrated, and the vehicle decelerated without the brake pedal being depressed. The vehicle was taken back to the private dealer where the vehicle was purchased and was diagnosed and determined that the hydraulic control unit needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was an updated HCU and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 126,800.

The tail lights keep going out on both sides. The tail light harness does not fit the female adapter properly. You have to hold it pushed in to get the light to come on but when you let go it turns back off. I have already replaced the sockets with Mopar OEM parts and am still having the problem. After researching I found that this is a common issue with this vehicle. It is a safety concern because without tail lights keep other drivers may not be able to see my vehicle at night or when I am braking.

My vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 24S02 regarding the detachment of the exterior A-pillar windshield molding. I have been actively waiting on a dealership backorder list for twelve (12) months. This extreme delay is completely unacceptable for a federally mandated safety defect. The exterior trim pieces on my vehicle are now actively loose. Every day this vehicle is driven, it presents an immediate structural hazard to myself, my passengers, and other drivers on the road should the plastic trim completely detach at highway speeds. Furthermore, despite Ford’s official bulletin instructing dealerships to inspect and apply interim stabilization to loose trim while parts are delayed, my local dealership has failed to offer or complete this temporary safety service. I have been forced to manually tape down my own vehicle’s exterior panels using temporary automotive tape to mitigate the immediate risk of a highway accident. Vehicle repeatedly entered limp mode / lost power at highway speed a few days after the dealer performing the remedy for NHTSA Recall 23V- 010 (FCA Recall 03A, transmission internal wiring connector short). The recall remedy did not correct the defect. Prior to the recall work, the van entered limp mode on 2 other occasions. Timeline: On 7/10/26, Park Chrysler Jeep in Burnsville, MN performed the open recall remedy (Recall 03A / NHTSA 23V-010) on our vehicle. We informed the dealer we were departing on a multi-week interstate family road trip, and the dealer released the vehicle as repaired. On [XXX], about 40 minutes into our trip, the vehicle entered limp mode with a severe loss of motive power while driving at highway speed on [XXX] between Northfield, MN and [XXX]. We were able to reach the shoulder safely. After multiple restart attempts, the vehicle resumed operation. On [XXX], the vehicle entered limp mode 2 additional times under the same conditions on [XXX] in IL, and on [XXX] in IN, again at highway speed and with heavy traffic present. In one case there was barely enough shoulder to pull over safely. Each event created a sudden, significant speed differential with surrounding traffic. On 7/16/26 the vehicle was taken to Bob Chandler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Columbus, OH. The dealer's diagnosis is that the transmission must be replaced. The repair order ID is [XXX]. The vehicle is at that dealership awaiting parts. Safety concern: The vehicle lost motive power at highway speeds 3 times in two days after the recall remedy was performed and the vehicle was returned to us as repaired. Occupants at the time included 2 adults and 3 children. No crash, injury, or fire occurred, but each event presented a serious collision risk from sudden deceleration in traffic. This experience is consistent with the concern in NHTSA's reopened investigation that the software-only recall remedy does not address the underlying hardware defect. Driving on May 20, 2026 near my home in Florida, power steering assist failed suddenly making it very difficult to steer. Red light on dashboard lit up indicating steering failure. According to a search of the NHTSA records, this is a known issue with these cars. (NHTSA Campaign 15V452000, Audi Action Code 48M1. If I had been on a highway or busy street, the sudden failure would have likely caused an accident. The car was towed to Windemere Automotive in Naples, Florida. The steering rack was defective and replaced, at a cost of $4700. Letter written to Audi of America, INC about this incident. I received no response. This event occurred with no warning, an no previous hint of a steering problem.
