Dear Mitsubishi Motors Dealer Partner,
We are sharing information with you today to advise that we are offering an extended
warranty on 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander vehicles, as it pertains to the hood. MMNA has
been involved in a class action which claimed that the hoods of certain 2022 Outlanders
are defective because they flutter and bounce while driving. MMNA has denied and
contested those claims.
Without any admission of liability or fault, MMNA has entered into a nationwide class
settlement that has been preliminarily approved by the court.

Customers Seeking Resolution for Hood Flutter
The Settlement Class Vehicles, which were distributed by MMNA in the United States, will
include certain model year 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander vehicles that were subject to TSB21-42A-011REV2 (“MODIFIED HOOD FOR HOOD FLUTTER – 2022 OUTLANDER – REVISED”).
The specific Settlement Class Vehicles are determined by VINs. You can look up whether
an affected vehicle is a Settlement Class Vehicle by typing the vehicle’s VIN in the MEL on
your dealer Super Screen, see warranty bulletin WB2026-008 for details, along with
confirming whether the hood currently on the vehicle is a pre-countermeasure or post
countermeasure part by following the instructions in TSB-26-42A-002.
Effective May 1, 2026 - the date that the class notice will be mailed to the customers the New Vehicle Limited Warranties (“NVLW”) for the Settlement Class Vehicles will be
extended to cover 100% of the cost of hood replacement on all Settlement Class Vehicles
for customers that express concerns with hood fluttering. This warranty extension
increases the 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty for a period of eighteen (18) months,
solely to cover the costs of a hood replacement, until October 31, 2027, without any
mileage limitation. Note that the extended warranty offered under the settlement is
subject to the same terms and conditions as the NVLW.

Customers Seeking Reimbursement
Effective May 1, 2026 – July 30, 2026 for any customer that had an out of pocket repair
completed no more than 18 months prior to May 1, 2026 and is seeking reimbursement
for that repair related to hood flutter should contact the portal administrator @
www.hoodsettlement.com for details related to reimbursement and instructions on filing
a claim.
