SITUATION
When turning the steering wheel fully to the steering end stops, a ”groaning” noise can be perceived at the
respective steering stop. The noise occurs at higher ambient temperatures from approx. 68°F.
See attached video V31 04 26.

CAUSE
Due to an excessively tight fit between the moving part (hydro mount) and the guide of the hydro mount,
jamming occurs when turning the steering wheel fully towards the end stops; and a groaning noise is
generated.

CORRECTION
The affected tension struts with hydro mount are to be replaced in sets using tension struts with rubber
mounts as per REP31 12 050 “Removing and installing/replacing left or right tension strut”.
Note: A mixed installation of both variants is not permissible!
