Technical Background
Correlation faults in the wheel speed data arise when a temporary spare wheel, a nonoriginal wheel, or a
wheel/tire of incorrect size or inflation is installed.
When the correct OE-sized, properly inflated road wheel is reinstalled:
•

The MIL will clear automatically after three consecutive driving cycles OR after 120 km (75 miles)

•

The DTC(s) will remain Passive/Sporadic in the TCM (AW0002), but this is expected and does not
indicate a component failure.

Note: If any fault codes other than those specified in this procedure are present, diagnose and repair them
first before continuing this document. This procedure will clear all current fault codes stored in the modules.

1. Confirm Wheel / Tire Status:
•

Is the spare wheel currently installed?

•

Was a spare wheel recently used?

•

Was a non-OE wheel or mismatched tire installed?

•

Was a tire repair or replacement recently performed?

If YES to any of the above → Proceed to Step 2.
If NO to all the above, this TSB no longer applies.
2. Diagnostic Action:
If a wheel or tire mismatch condition is confirmed:
•

If not already completed, correct the identified tire related condition.

•

Clear all related DTCs using ODIS.

•

Perform a road test to ensure the MIL does not re-illuminate.
