Summary
Complaint CEL on with Code P012800 "The Coolant Temperature is Below the Specified Temperature" Cause Under investigation. This is not an issue that affects drivability or performance and is not a safety concern. The vehicle remains safe to operate with this code, but the measures listed in the "Remedy" section are recommended. Remedy 1. Use VMI to check for Emission Extended Warranty – Engine Thermostat (incl. software update) MY19-23, Various Models and Platforms (167, 190, 205, 213, 217, 222, 223, 232, 253, 290, 463) 2. If the vehicle is covered under the Emission Extended Warranty, Please perform steps outlined in the NCU for repairs. 3. If vehicle does not fall into the covered area of the Extended Warranty please check for Software updates to the ME control unit and then proceed with "Remedy Instructions" in attachments.
