Dear Altec Owner,
Altec Industries, Inc. has been notified that a condition exists based upon a notification from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the vehicle. This relates to the operation or customer satisfaction of the unit when
equipped with Altec equipment.
Refer to attached documentation that follows this letter. If you have additional questions, please contact your Altec Account Manager. You may also contact the OEM using the contact information in the attached notice.
If you had this repair performed before you received this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for
the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall.
If you have sold or retired the unit, update the records through Altec Connect. If you have leased this equipment
to another person or company, you are required by Federal Law to forward a copy of this notice to the lessee by
first class mail within ten (10) days of the receipt of this notice.

THIS NOTICE APPLIES TO YOUR VEHICLE IDENTIFIED ON
THE ENCLOSED CARD.
Dear International Customer,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the
National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
International Motors, LLC* has decided that a defect
which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain
2018 thru 2025 International ® MV ® Series trucks built
10/25/2017 thru 6/24/2024 , 2018 thru 2024
International ® 1300 Series trucks built 11/29/2017
thru 6/14/2023 and 2018 thru 2019 International ®
4300 Series trucks built 9/20/2017 thru 1/9/2019,
with feature codes 0004198, 0004240 (Brake
system, hydraulic with Hydromax brake booster).
REASON FOR THIS RECALL
The brake pressure switch may allow brake fluid to
seep past the diaphragm seal into the brake pressure
switch electrical connector and associated fuse which
can short the switch and/or fuse.
RISK TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY
A shorted switch or fuse may cause the circuit to
generate excessive heat which can result in a fire,
increasing the risk of property damage or personal
injury to the operator.
DEFECT REMEDY
You may already have been contacted about a similar
Safety Recall 23517 (NHTSA 23V-397) in 2023. Any
vehicle remedied under that recall also requires this
recall remedy to be performed.
Vehicles will have a new brake pressure switch/fuse
harness installed that contains an anti-capillary wire
that will block fluid from wicking up the copper.
The repair will be performed free of charge and take
approximately 1.5 hours to complete.
ACTIONS YOU SHOULD TAKE
Until the remedy can be performed, vehicle owners
are advised to park their vehicles outdoors.

If you own this vehicle, please schedule an

your vehicle repaired at no cost to you. You can find

Speedco locations in Texas and Louisiana cannot
perform warranty services.
If you have already paid for repairs prior to this notice
that corrected this defect, you may be eligible for
reimbursement of certain repair expenses if they
occurred 09/20/2017 thru 12/31/2025. Present your
original repair paperwork and proof of payment to any
International ® dealer and your eligibility will be
reviewed. You may also submit a claim using the
enclosed Request for Reimbursement card.
If you are the lessor of this vehicle, please forward a
copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days to
comply with federal regulations.
If you do not own this vehicle, please fill out and return
mail the enclosed card so that you will not be
contacted again about this recall.
