Technical Background
The service info provides an overview of the customer service packages for MLB and MQB vehicles equipped with
the MIB3 system. Depending on the vehicle model, the following control units may be updated as part of a customer
service package:
Diagnostic address | Control unit name
0x005F Control unit 1 for information electronics
0x0075 Emergency call module and communication unit
0x0019 Data bus diagnostic interface (gateway)
0X078E Android control unit 2 (fitted on vehicles with PR number IU4)
Diagnostic address 078E is a sub-participant of address 005F and is therefore not shown in the control unit
overview.
Proceed as follows to determine the software version of the Android control unit:
1. Flash mode.
SVM — Authorized Multiple Code Entry.
Enter DUCIDENTOOSF as the code.
Answer the question about sub-participants with “yes”.
Click through to the sub-participant with the system name “Android control unit”.
