Customer states:

The customer complains that one or more buttons on the A/C control unit in the vehicle are not working.

Workshop findings:

The complaint can be reproduced in the workshop. One or more buttons on the A/C control panel underneath the
display (see photo) do not work. The event memory entry “B131207: Button(s) in control panel, mechanical
fault” is logged in diagnostic address 0008.

Documentation required.

Technical Background

Internal voltage on the component may result in restricted functionality and sensitivity of the buttons on the AC
operating unit.

Production Solution
Not applicable.

Service

If the button or buttons on the air conditioner operating unit behave as described above under Workshop Findings,
remove the entire unit from the vehicle and unplug it. Then fit the same A/C control unit in the vehicle and check the
event memory for the event memory entry “B131207: button(s) in control panel, mechanical fault”.

If the complaint continues to occur after this process, then the air conditioner operating unit is defective and we
recommend replacing it.

When billing, please always attach a video that clearly show the complaint to DOC-IT. To ensure a reference to the
vehicle, the video must:

* — Include the VIN and date.
* Must not be edited.
* Should be in focus and taken with sufficient light. A high resolution is not necessary.

If appropriate, please mark the location of the problem so that parts analysis has a clear reference to the complaint.
Please ensure that the video documentation does not show any people and/or face, license plates, or customer
data.
