Customer states:

The electric charging flap does not open or cannot be closed.

Workshop findings:

The electric charging flap does not open or cannot be closed. In some cases, the actuator is locked.

In some cases, DTC “B1A88F2: Charge door 2 LIN actuator, referencing malfunction” is stored in the diagnostic
address 813D.

Technical Background

In rare cases, there may be an issue with the activation of the electric charging flap. This issue results in a fault in
the electric charging flap.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

Do not replace parts immediately. First, you can try to restore the function of the electric charging flap by performing
three supporting measures.

Resetting charging flap system

The charging flap system can be reset by simply removing the charging flap fuses. Proceed as follows:

+ Ifthe charging flaps are not in the closed position, push them carefully into the end position.

+ Open the cover on the left in the luggage compartment to access the fuse carrier (see Figure 1).

+ Remove the charging flap fuses (39, 43) for about 10 seconds (see Figure 2).

+ Refit the fuses and close the fuse holder cover.

If this DTC is stored, perform a reference run of the affected charge flap using the ODIS diagnostic tester.
Releasing actuator
Improper use may cause the actuator to be locked even though the charging flap is not closed. In this case, it can
be released using the following procedure (see Figure 3 and attached video):
+ Use a screwdriver to carefully push in the actuator signal pin as far as it goes.
+ Then press the button on the button module for approx. 2 seconds and release the button again.
+ The actuator will be unlocked.
+ Remove the screwdriver.

+ Carefully push the charging flap into the end position.
