Applies to:
This document refers to Brinkley Model Z Fifth Wheels manufactured between VIN 00001 - VIN 03223, and
Model G Fifth Wheels manufactured between VIN 00003 - VIN 00367.
Condition:
Brinkley RV has determined that under certain circumstances there can be minor water intrusion into the
bedroom under the bedroom slide out.
Correction:
Brinkley RV has determined the bottom slide-out facia backer presses against the water tray below the slideout when the room is fully extended. This pressure can limit the water tray’s ability to dissipate the water as
designed.
Brinkley RV will, at no charge to the customer, pay to modify the bedroom slide-out fascia backer so it no
longer adversely affects flow through the water tray.
In addition to standard shop tools, the following
specialized tools are required:

1. Tape ETERNABOND 3” X 50’ BLACK RV SEAL (part #
102405)
2. Adhesive CHEM X PRO 10 OZ CAR BLACK (part #
100650)
3. Caulk gun
4. 90 degree screw gun
5. 5-way tool (or similar prying tool - i.e: putty knife or
scraper)
6. Razor knife
7. Flashlight (magnetized if possible to attach to the
fascia backer)
8. 50/50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water
9. Clean shop rags
10. Model Specific Parts Kit (See page 3)

5. Remove the lower (horizontal) fascias by
removing the (3) screws on the back side of the
fascia backer (Figure 3).

2. Open bedroom slide-out approximately halfway.
3. Remove the (4) screws on the back of the upper
(vertical) fascia backer (Figure 1). Do this on
both sides of the slide-out.

6. Remove the bottom (horizontal) fascia and set
aside (Figure 4). Do this on both sides of the
slide-out.

4. Use the 5-Way Tool (or other suitable prying
tool) to gently pry at the screw holes to detach
the upper (vertical) fascia (Figure 2). Do this on
both sides of the slide-out.

7. Remove the original lower fascia backer from
the slide-out (Figure 5).

8. Using the original fasteners, install corner
lower fascia backer panel below the upper
(vertical) fascia bracket (Figure 6).

10. Scrape old adhesive from the face of the vertical
fascia backer.
11. Apply a nickel size drop of CHEM X PRO
adhesive to the vertical fascia backer where the
original adhesive was applied (Figure 8).
12. Apply adhesive to the back of the vertical fascia
where the original adhesive was applied and
install upper (vertical) fascia. Fasten with original
fasteners from hind through the backer.

9. Use the original fasteners to install lower slideout fascia backer. Be certain there is a1/8” gap
between the lower slide out facia backer and the
corner lower fascia backer (Figure 7).

13. Apply a nickel size drop of CHEM X PRO
adhesive to the back of the bottom fascia where
the original adhesive was applied (Figure 9).
14. Apply adhesive to the fascia backer where the
original adhesive was applied.

15. Using original fasteners on back side, install
bottom (horizontal) fascia (Figure 10a, 10b, 10c).

16. Install ETERNA BOND tape to cover the vertical
upper fascia backer to new corner fascia backer
seam (Figure 11).

17. Repeat procedure for other side of slide out.

18. Clean the area at the lower corner of the slide-out
opening with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol
and water on a clean shop rag.

20. Install self adhesive D-seals on interior wall at the
slide-out opening (Figure 12a and 12b). Repeat
for both sides.

19. Remove the screw that attaches the slide-out
motor wire harness.

21. With slide at full extension, water test for leaks.
