SERVICE ACTION: BODY DOMAIN
CONTROLLER REPLACEMENT (SA603)

 NOTICE
This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this
bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area.
This bulletin provides information to replace the Body Domain Controller (BDC) on certain 2024MY EV9 (MV)
vehicles produced from May 03, 2024 through June 18, 2024. The affected vehicles may experience issues
when trying to activate the digital key/creating ‘Owner Key’. Follow the procedure outlined in this publication
to replace the Body Domain Controller on the applicable vehicle. Before conducting the procedure, verify that
the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.

 NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the
warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the warranty period will
require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on KDealer+ (Service → Warranty Coverage → Warranty
Coverage Inquiry → Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service Action reports are
available on KDealer+ (Consumer Affairs → Not Completed Recall → Recall VIN → Select Report),
which includes a list of affected vehicles.
This issue number is SA603.

1.

Using the KDS 2.0, note the ‘EOL Coding
Number’ by referring to “Expert Diagnosis →
System

Identification

→

BDC-BCM

Body

Domain Controller-Body Control Module”.
Note: The ‘EOL Coding Number’ will be input
on step 5a.

2.

Perform the ‘High Voltage Shut-Off Procedure’
by referring to “Body Electrical System → High
Voltage Shut-Off Procedures → High Voltage
Shut-Off Procedures (Steps 1-4 Only)” in the
applicable Shop Manual on KGIS.

3.

Replace the Body Domain Controller (BDC) (A)
by referring to “Body (Interior / Exterior /
Electrical) → Security & Vehicle Ignition System
→ Body Domain Control Unit → Repair
procedures” in the applicable Shop Manual on
KGIS.
Tightening torque for nuts/bolt:
5.8 – 8.7 lb.ft (7.8 – 11.8 N.m)

4.

Reinstall all removed parts in reverse order of
removal.

was noted in step 1.

Using the KDS 2.0, perform Smart Key Code
