2-3. Countermeasure

Retightening Cooling Fan Motor Bolt.

Precautions
• When two people work together, confirm what to do next verbally each other for safety.
• Disassembled parts should be carefully stored so that they are not damaged until they are
assembled, and organized so that they are not missing.
• Absolutely no fire allowed during the work.
• When handling flammable materials such as solvents and gasoline, be sure to ventilate and be
careful of fire.
Refer to the service manual and set-up manual for the details not mentioned in the instructions.

2-5. Unpackaging
1) Remove a band.
(A): Band

NOTE:
Reuse the band.

2) Remove the cardboard.

NOTE:
Reuse the cardboard.

3) Remove the bolts (A) of the bracket and bracket
4) Remove the bolts of the top frame of packing frame and remove the top frame.

NOTE:
Protect the vehicle to prevent from
damages during unpacking work
5) Remove the bolts of the packing frame and remove the front struts and side struts.

Put protective covers on edge of crate to prevent injury during
repair work if necessary.

2-6. Cowling removal
NOTE:
To carry out work simultaneously with two persons (one person for
each of left and right sides).
1) Put waste cloth on brake pedal to protect injury.

2) Put tape on cowling to protect injury as shown below picture.

3) Remove the fasteners and bolt from the meter panel (1)

4) Remove the meter panel (1) in the direction as shown in the figure with unhooking the hooks.

5) Remove the fastener, screws and bolt from the side cowling assembly (1).

NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the frame when
removing the side cowling assembly(1),
remove the nut (2) from the side cowling
assembly.

6) Remove the under cowling bolt (1)

7） Remove the fasteners (1). (Right side only)

8) Remove the fastener shown in below pictures.

9) Unhook the hooks inserting the remover in the hatched area.

10) Unhook the hook, protrusion and fasteners (1)
as shown in the figure.

11) Tilt the side cowling assembly (1).

12) Pull the side cowling assembly (1) backward to unhook the hooks and remove it.

Perform the same operation as described in 3) to 12) and remove the cowling on the opposite side.

2-7. Retightening of Cooling Fan Motor bolt

1) Remove the radiator assembly bolts (1), oil cooler bolts (2) and tilt the radiator body forward of the
vehicle to open a space on the cooling fan side.

NOTE:
The core of the radiator is easily deformed and damaged, so be careful
when working.

NOTE:
Put waste cloth as shown below picture to
protect from damage by contacting with the
parts, when tilt the radiator body.

2) Insert the rubber sheet between the radiator fan
and the radiator to prevent scratches on the
radiator fin as shown in the picture.

3) Retightening of Cooling Fan Motor bolt.
Tightening torque(a)
5.0 N·m (0.51 kgf-m, 3.70 lbf-ft)

To tighten the motor nut on the left side, insert the limit wrench in the direction of the black arrow.
To tighten the motor nut on the right side, insert the limit wrench in the direction of the blue arrow.
Since there are two types of limit wrench, spanner type and Ring spanner type, choose the appropriate
one for retightening work.

2-8. Installation of radiator assembly bolt
1) Remove the rubber sheet.

2) Remove waste cloth put.

3) Install the radiator body and then tighten the radiator assembly bolts (1) and oil cooler bolts (2) to the
specified torque.
Tightening torque
Radiator assembly bolt (a): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)
Oil cooler bolt (b): 5.5 N·m (0.56 kgf-m, 4.05 lbf-ft)

2-9. Installation of Cowling

1) Install the body cowling and under inner cowling
in the reverse order of removal. Hook the hooks
of the under center cowling and attach the
fasteners.

NOTE:
When installing the under inner cowling, pass
the projection of the radiator (1) through the
hole of the under inner cowling (2).

2) Install the side cowling assembly in the
reverse order of removal.

3) Pass the reservoir tank over flow hose to hole of
side cowling assembly (2).

4) After installing the side cowling assembly (1)
on vehicle, attach the nut (2) to side cowling
assembly.

5) Attach the fasteners (1) of under center cowling.

6) Tighten the under cowling bolt (1) and screw (2) to
the specified torque.
Tightening torque
Under cowling bolt (a):
10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)

7) Tighten the side cowling assembly bolt (1) and
screws (2) to the specified torque. And attach the
fastener.
Tightening torque
Side cowling assembly bolt (a):
10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)
Side cowling assembly screw (b):
1.8 N·m (0.18 kgf-m, 1.35 lbf-ft)

8) Install the meter panel (1).

9) Install the fasteners and bolt (a) to the meter panel (1).
Tightening torque
bolt (a): 4.0 N·m (0.41 kgf-m, 2.95 lbf-ft)

Perform the same operation as described in 1) to 9) and install the cowling on the opposite side.
10) Remove tapes.

11) Remove waste cloth on brake pedal.

2-10. Final inspection after the work
(1) Check that each part is securely set and tightened.
(2) Check each parts has no damage
(3) Check the radiator core has no deformation or damage.

2-11. Repacking
1) Repacking the vehicle with the inverse procedure of 2-5.
NOTE:
•
Confirm that V.I.N. of the cardboard is matched the vehicle’s one.
•
Restore all protective material after the work is done.
•
Confirm that the box containing parts is stored in the crate.

2) Check that cardboard box is set
securely. Check the

on the cardboard.
