Troubleshooting
SERVICE ACTION CODE TABLE
Refer to Table 10. To clear active Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) (as situations are remedied), simply clear (or “self‑heal”)
by removing and reapplying ignition power. Alternatively, DTCs may be cleared by using a PC‑based diagnostic tool.
SERVICE
ACTION CODE
ACTION
A
Replace the core module.
B
1.
2.
Check for software updates through an OEM-authorized service tool.
If there are no software updates and the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will not clear, replace
the core module.
1.
2.
Verify the compressor control line has no leakage when the compressor is unloaded.
Check the air dryer unloader/purge valve. Remove the cartridge. Check the area below the
cartridge in the sieve area (and below the sieve) for dirt, ice, or any sieve blockages blocked. If it
is not blocked, check the main exhaust silencer.
If no problem is detected on the compressor control line and there is no blockage of the air dryer,
replace the air dryer unloader/purge valve.
If the problem persists, replace the core module.
C
3.
4.
D
When compressor is loaded, check for leakage at the unloader/purge valve. No leakage is expected
until the cut-off pressure is reached after regeneration.

6.
7.
8.
Check the primary and secondary circuits for leakage causing pressure difference between the
two circuits.
If the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) does not clear after system inspection, replace the core
module.
Replace the cartridge. Reset the maintenance data of the cartridge using a diagnostic tool.
Check the reservoirs. If there is water in the reservoirs, drain the water from reservoirs.
Actuate and release the parking brake 30 times to eliminate water in the parking brake circuit to
help avoid potential damage.
If the maintenance interval is abnormal (cartridge lifetime, under six months), additional actions
must be taken:
• Check the vehicle for air leakage while the system is filled up with the parking brake released
(the engine does not need to be running).
• Check the compressor performance by measuring the air system charge time using an OEMauthorized service tool.
Check the pneumatic connection between the Trailer Control Module (TCM) and the GSAT
system.
Measure the trailer supply line actual pressure using an air pressure gauge.
Compare the actual pressure reading to digital sensor readings of the TCM and the GSAT
system.
Replace the TCM or GSAT system based on the air pressure gauge comparison.
Check whether the Hand Control Unit (HCU) movement is hindered or blocked.
Check the wiring between the trailer HCU and GSAT system for damage and/or continuity,
including connectors and pins.
Check the CAN and LIN wires and associated connector pins. Measure the CAN bus resistance
(60 ohm). Measure the LIN continuity end-to-end and continuity to ground.
Check the LIN communication (use another HCU to check).
Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
If the DTCs return, refer to OEM documentation for diagnosis and replacement instructions for
the HCU.
Clear the DTCs.
If the DTCs return, replace the core module.
